Guest guest
S Fri, 29 Oct 2004 19:49:16 -0700 (PDT) Subject:GOVERNMENT BY THE CORPORATIONS PLEASE ELECT EITHER: A government of the corporations, by the corporations, for the corporations (The Republican Party will do that for you.) Or A government of the people, by the people, for the people Big brother is watching you. No, that's not a warning—the corporations know what they wish to know about you. The warning: Corporation will own you. They already own the politicians, who will legislate the ultimate possession of you for them. Here is a typical example: CORPORATE DICTATORSHIP Senate turned down Amendment proposed by Senator Patrick Leahy (D-VT) making it illegal for contractors to overcharge or cheat the government. No surprise. It has been legal for corporations to cheat the government and the Senate intends to keep it that way. Corporations have Congress' blessing, we will see an increase in cheating! You and I have paid for it and will pay yet more in the future. The 2003 average corporate tax was only 6%. The burden was on individuals. Congress reduced the corporate taxes by another $140 Billion! You and I pick up the slack. Tax cuts: the politicians promised us would create jobs. They enriched the rich, reduced government spending that would otherwise have created jobs for you and me. These excess corporate earnings are now handed over as bonuses to the rich corporate officers. Promoting outsourcing and increasing immigration creates a weak demand for working people, making the people submissive to the corporations. Employee earnings have declined over 9%. Job security remains precarious. Congress made it illegal for Medicare to negotiate drug prices. They also made it illegal to import drugs. This hampers competition and will considerably increase the prices we all pay for drugs. This Congress does not enforce antitrust laws. Many small oil companies have been bought up or merged, resulting in reduced competition and higher prices. Go buy gas while you can afford it. The rich are enriched, the middle class reduced. This link shows that every Republic voted to promote cheating. http://capwiz.com/afr/utr/1/LGYSDNJGMF/OVQVDNJGXZ/ The following link indicates the President urging this matter: http://capwiz.com/afr/utr/1/LGYSDNJGMF/ALZCDNJGYB/
