Guest guest
Letters: About Flu Death from http://www.redflagsweekly.com/letters/letters1.htm by Randy L. Powers My compliments on Dr. Sherri Tenpenny's article, Annual Number of Flu Deaths, It's A Guess <http://www.redflagsweekly.com/conferences/vaccines/2004_oct07.html>. Before reading it, I had become so frustrated with the poor coverage and fear mongering about the flu vaccine shortage by the main stream media, I wrote and emailed them the following: While the Center for Disease Control says, " every year in the United States, on average, 36,000 <http://www.cdc.gov/flu/about/qa/hospital.htm> people die from the flu " , the actual flu deaths in 2001 and 2002 from the CDC National Vital Statistic Report <http://www.cdc.gov/flu/about/qa/hospital.htm> for 2002 was (on page 16), 753 people in 2002 and 257 in 2001. Previous CDC National Vital Statistic Reports reveal there were 1,765 flu deaths in 2000, and 1,665 in 1999. The CDC's statement that 36,000 flu deaths occur annually comes from combining flu deaths with pneumonia deaths. The CDC has three basic categories of flu deaths: Influenza plus pneumonia, Influenza plus other respiratory manifestations/symptoms, and Influenza plus other manifestations/symptoms (non-respiratory). In most flu associated deaths, the presence of influenza virus was never confirmed. As an example, on pages 1068 to 1071 of the 2000 CDC report, it was confirmed in only 60 of the 1,765 reported influenza associated deaths.<http://www.cdc.gov/nchs/datawh/statab/unpubd/mortabs/gmwki10.htm> Many of the news departments have allowed their vaccination " experts " to state false numbers without being questioned. The facts should have been checked and the expert guests should have been more thoroughly questioned.
