Hi!

I am new to this list, after receiving an invitation by a wonderful, many-years

friend who said I ought to join!

Here's my situation:

I have recently undergone a total hip replacement, due to osteoarthritis eating

away at my hip joint. All went well, I'm walking now without the aid of a walker

or cane, but still have some problems.

I have had hip problems since 1991, and have been on increasingly stronger

narcotic pain meds for that whole time.

Now its time to detox. Though my Dr has a plan for withdrawl that seems OK, I

know I will be experiencing all kinds of things like muscle cramps and the

inability to sleep.

I also have Hepatitis C, not very high levels, so no Western treatment has been

deemed necessary. I stopped drinking alcohol when I was diagnosed (2002) and

instead drink alot of distilled water (when I can afford it on my meager

income.)

I'm wondering what herbs and/or other remedies you guys know about that would

help me detox from the pain meds, as this is my main concern. I'm also concerned

about the muscle aches and spasms, I know that drinking alot of water will

reduce the spasms, but I'm really seeking information about making the

transition from opiods to nothing--and without the scary withdrawl symptoms!

Personal info; I have 2 wonderful boys, 13 and 10, and they are the lights of my

life.

I don't want them to see Mom go through any more pain, they've already seen

enough.

If anyone has had this experience with detoxifying off opiods and knows some

herbal remedies and relaxation techniques etc I could use ( " cheap " ! is the word

here--I am currently unemployed and money is so tight...) I would truly

appreciate it.

I want to thank you in advance, and also to thank you for the marvellous

articles and information I have been receiving on such a variety of subjects!

Thank you all so much! This seems like such a knowledgeable group.

And thank you to my Pal (you know who you are!) who referred me, I know it is no

mistake to ask for help from such a neat group as all of you.

My recommendation is to start with b-12

(http://www.vitaminshoppe.com/browse/sku_detail.jhtml?SkuID=65120) You want to

use the Methyl form. It does a wonderful job for detoxing certain anesthesia,

and other medications from the body.

After a week, start milk thistle and dandelion combo. Liver Support W/Milk

Thistle

I use this company because I personally know that the company that supplies

their herbs is the only Pharmaceutically licensed herbal manufactoring company i

the USA. (Nature's Answer) and They are the top rated companies supplying

suuplements in the USA. Everything they do is genuine and not marketing ploy.

Sorry if this seems like spam - it isn't. I just have a lot of respect. And I

have read the labels. What is nice is, their staff isn't afraid to say something

is garbage when it is all media hype.

So where was I. Oh the milk thistle will also help heal your liver damage from

the hepatitis. Start with that.
