I am writing you today to raise a BIG RED FLAG about a massive

upcoming misinformation campaign that Republicans and their big-time

financial backers are launching. Please take this seriously, because

these are the same financial backers who bought and paid for George

Bush's White House and Tom DeLay's Congress and now want to be paid

I think we all know the first prize they want. So let me just

say it out loud so we can move forward -- Bush and his backers want to

destroy the integrity of Social Security and turn it into a massive

new bankroll for Wall Street money-men. Just think about the way

Halliburton has profited from Iraq, and then apply the same principle

to Social Security if Republicans crack open the trust fund for their

friends on Wall Street.

 

George Bush, his ideological friends, and wealthy financial

supporters on Wall Street need to make the American people believe the

system is in crisis and massive change is the only solution. That's

the only way they can justify billions and billions of new fees they

want Americans to pay to Wall Street firms rather than just making the

modest fixes needed to guarantee Social Security in perpetuity for

everybody.

 

So mark this date down in your calendars - because I am

telling you right now that for the next four years, Bush and the

Republican Congress will be relentless and do everything they can to

portray Social Security as a program on its death bed so their friends

can make money off Social Security the same way Halliburton is making

money off the War in Iraq.
