Guest guest
hello everyone, I guess this is a question for women only. I'll be starting the copper IUD soon, and its said to bring on really terrible crampings and such. I don't like taking advil or any pills, so I am looking for a natural option to help me deal with the pain. I have been on the patch, which has defintely helped lessen the pains and cramping, but I can't stand the hormones. Previously i had terrible pains, I would spend a day or two in bed, even if I took advil. I am living in Egypt, so there are many herbal stores where I can purchase many types of herbs, but not usually those native to North America. Can anyone recommend a herbal mixture, that I can take throughout the month or at certain times that can help me deal with severe crampings and such. thanks very much Mail - now with 250MB free storage. Guest guest
My rule of thumb is if nature/God didn't make it to be in you.. it's dangerous. I do nothing unnatural so I can't really help you. I would recommend Natural Family Planning and nothing else. In a message dated 1/3/2005 5:15:52 P.M. Guest guest
The copper IUD is a mechanical form of birth control which requires no maintenance. Perhaps some women have a problem with cramping, but there in no reason to assume you wlll, especially if you have had children. You can always give it a try and have it easily removed if it is uncomfortable. This is one of the few reliable forms of birth control if you do not want to take the pill. Many women are happy with the copper IUD but eventually it needs to be replaced. One problem that most doctors will not mention is that it introduces extra copper into your system which is generally undesireable. If you need the assurance that you will not get pregnant, this could be the best choice, at least for 5 years or so. At that point you can reevaluate what you want to do. I'm assuming you already have children since usually the copper IUD is not prescribed for women who do not have children as it can sometimes cause infertility. Mail - You care about security. Guest guest
I had it for 10 years~ No problem except if your partner is well endowed, he might hit, i think, the cooper string that's hanging outside of the cervix and that's not a good feeling:( Hempress ---- as 01/04/05 20:11:09 Re: question to women only The copper IUD is a mechanical form of birth control which requires no maintenance.
