Guest guest
M Fri, 25 Feb 2005 11:36:13 -0500 When One's Suspicions Prove True: Ten on U.S. Pain Pill Panel Had Industry Ties -- NYT Dear Folks, Last week, I posted my objections to the drugs Vioxx, Celebrex and Bextra being put back on the market with this headline, " FDA Panel: Vioxx Should Be Available Despite Risks " , in that post I attributed this move because drug companies have far too much influence over this agency because they were a major contributors to the Bush/Cheney campaign as well as other GOP candidates. I even wrote my representatives of my outrage for putting these drugs back on the market. Now I read the article below and it backs up what I had felt all along. They say these advisors who have consulted for various drug companies did not use undue influence, but again, my feelings are that they did. Under this administration and agency, our health means nothing and the health of drug companies means everything! Mary! Ten on U.S. Pain Pill Panel Had Industry Ties -- NYT (Snip) NEW YORK (Reuters) - Ten of the 32 government drug advisers who supported the continued marketing of the pain relievers Celebrex, Bextra and Vioxx have consulted in recent years for the drugs' makers, the New York Times reported on Friday. http://story.news./news?tmpl=story & u=/nm/20050225/us_nm/health_fda_pain\ killers_dc_2
