Requesting help for a friend

I went to the optician three days ago to get my eyes checked. He discovered that

i had inflammed optical nerves in both eyes and sent me immediately to the

specialist eye hospital in Dublin city.

To cut a long story short over the next two days I had numerous eye tests etc

and was eventually told by the specialist Neurologist that I have a condition

called Benign Intercranial Hypertension. What that basically means is that I

have a build up of pressure within the brain.

I'm lucky in many ways that my optician picked up on the problem so it is

treatable with medication - otherwise I would have gone blind. I had been

complaining to my gp for some months about the horrendous headaces I had been

getting and also shimmering in my eyes...he'd diagnosed sinisitis!!! So I have a

fantastic optician and a crap gp!

I have to go back to hospital for further tests and regular lumbar punctures to

drain fluid from the brain. I also have to have a MRI scan to eliminate the

possibility of a brain tumour.

I feel lucky in many ways that it was discovered early enough to treat it but

also that it didn't turn out to be MS or a brain tumour (I'm hoping that the MRI

scan will not pick up anything- am staying as positive as I can).

I've been put on tablets called Diomoxin which can have some pretty nasty side

effects. Am feeling pretty low today but not sure whether that is delayed shock

or a reacton to the tablets - had horrendous headaches andpains in the eyes with

severe vomiting. Don't feelso bad as writing this email to you but am totally

exhausted.

So am asking for any help you can send my way...healing or good health

spells...all and anything openly accepted..I want so much to get well.
