Guest guest
Hello All, I am new to the site and am both enjoying and learning so much. Thank you all. I have been going to a Network Chiropracter (WAIT, before you say/think ANYTHING,this is not the snap, crackle, pop method)..this involves your muscles and nerves in connection to your spine. Your body holds onto EVERYTHING since your life began. This has been a saving grace and life changing experience for me. I have been going twice a week since last August and I have never thought I could ever be more at home, connected and healthier in my body. This method helps in all areas...pain, disease, allergies...the list is endless. Go to Vertebral subluxation - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia and read the entry. Make this something you find out/do for yourself without being persuaded by any negative reactions or feedbacks. It requires patience, commitment and the wish for quality of life...who doesn't want that. Namaste Cathy Check out the all-new Mail beta - Fire up a more powerful email and get things done faster. Guest guest
Cathy, FYI - the " snap crackle pop " method as you described, is a traditional, straight chiropractor that relieves vertebral subluxations via spinal adjustments, allowing the body's nervous system to communicate freely without impingement. The sound is a cavitation and is not a bad thing, and not everyone hears that sound when they recieve adjustments. Network is a type of chiropractic, but the more traditional chiropractic is not a bad modality either. Though, I am sincerely glad that you have found health and happiness through chiropractic, Sincerely, Sarah , Cathy Condoluci <broadwayli61 wrote: > > Hello All, > > I am new to the site and am both enjoying and learning so much. Guest guest
While working as a massage therapist in Washington, I was employed by a chiropractor who practiced something called the " Activator " method. It utilizes a hand held device which gives abrupt pinpoint pressure. Kind of like mechanical acupressure on steriods along the spine and other regions of the spine and back. It is far more gentle than traditional " bone cracking " as some have put it, but not as gentle as the Network method. Gosh. If someone has more information or a website on the Network method, I would love to hear more about it. I have a Reiki student who is seeing a chiropractor who practices this, but she has a difficult time explaining it... Hope this other option is something else you can consider. Guest guest
Dawn, I currently work for a chiropractor who practices diversified technique (http://www.annarborchiro.com/chiropractic.html#diversified , http://www.sfpmg.com/structural-balancing.html. I have also been to a Thompson technique and an Activator Chiropractor. I have asked my boss many questions about network technique. Here is a website with ab it of a description (http://www.holisticonline.com/Chiropractic/chiro_network- chiropractic.htm and http://www.eastwesthealth.info/network_chiropractic.html , http://www.associationfornetworkcare.com/whatisnsa.shtml ) From what my DC tells me, it's EXTREMELY gentle, and some find it helpful, although her opinion (and it is not the ONLY opinion) is that the gentle pressure on muscles is helpful, it is not as quickly recognized as a manual adjustment. The work is not directly on the spine or vertebrae, but on the tension along the spine. It is a bit less adjustment, a bit more energetic I think? That's what it seems like to me. As far as how well it holds the adjustment - The same goes for the activator (www.activator.com) . It does work on the spine to adjust the vertebrae in much the same way as a manual adjustment, however the adjustment is not as deep, (for lack of a better term) and she finds that in her practice, it doesn't hold as well as a manual. The patients that she sees who want JUST activator, will come in more often, for a longer period than those who are okay with manual adjustments. It is effective (and particularly good for extremities, and she's even used it on my sinuses!) but her professional opinion is that the results are not seen as quickly, or as well as they are with her other techniques. But as with all, we find the practitioner that is right for us and our bodies. I personally find that manual adjustments (after you give them months to begin to " hold " , as your body is in a bad habit of being in the wrong position) work really well for me, and it is only after over a year of treatment, that I am responding very, very quickly (almost instantly) to many adjustments. I find they help with digestive issues, with my headaches and especially with my mood. Afterall, our entire body is run by the nerves that run through our spinal column! I've had good luck with both activator and my current DC and with different things. This has been my personal experience. I like to get acupuncture or massage and then chiropractic...working on the entire musculoskeletal system. Many of our patients find this works well also. Hope this helps? I know I'm a bit biased, but that is just my personal opinion, and also from seeing our patients in our office. Guest guest
Hi Cathy, No worries. Just those of us that are chiros, or work for chiros tend to dislike the general community's use of " snap " or " crack " . That's all. A bit of a sore spot! Glad you have found help through Network Chiropractic. My best, Sarah Anne , Cathy Condoluci <broadwayli61 wrote: > > Thank you Sarah, > > I hope I didn't offend anyone with " snap, crackle, pop " , just found much more > comfort and lasting results with Network. > Health & well being > Namaste > Cathy > > > Dawn Gilbreath <houstonqidaocoach wrote: > While working as a massage therapist in Washington, I was employed by > a chiropractor who practiced something called the " Activator " method. > It utilizes a hand held device which gives abrupt pinpoint pressure. > Kind of like mechanical acupressure on steriods along the spine and > other regions of the spine and back. > > It is far more gentle than traditional " bone cracking " as some have > put it, but not as gentle as the Network method.
