Guest guest
My 19 year old daughter has been ill for the last month or more with a raw throat and severe nasal congestion and drainage. She has done 3 rounds of antibiotics with no relief. I told her no more. She was tested for strep and mono, both were negative. So the Doc's just said the only thing they can...tonsilitis!!! She is eating well, lots of fresh fruits and veggies as well as taking her vitamins. Her nose congestion has cleared up ( with nasonex) but her throat is still sore with pus pockets. Help!! What else can I get her to do to rid herself of them. She is trying to get her immune system back up to fight it off but any ideas on something different would really help. She lives in San Antonio, Texas and the crap in the air this time of year doesn't help at all. thanks. Daphne

Guest guest
Perhaps her body is struggling to detox and get rid of this bug, and is overloaded with antibiotics? I'd cut out dairy if she's eating/drinking any, and really concentrate on fresh fruits/veggies and even whole grains. You can get some raw Apple cider Vinegar, chop up a bunch of garlic, onions, hot peppers, ginger and horseradish and just stick it all in a jar (fill the jar with the ACV) and let it sitin the jar. Have her take a few TBS of it a few times a day. It will be potent, hot and spicy, but helps ward off viruses and bacteria, and will also help with phlegm. Gargling with it if she can stand it might help too! It'll get stronger the longer it sits in the jar. Just strain off a bit of the liquid when you give it to her (don't have her eat the pulp) You can run it all through a food processer or blender too, to really get all the good stuff out of it and into the vinegar. Gargling wi8th just apple cider vinegar (ex- braggs) and a bit of water is also helpful for this sort of thing. It can be soothing as well! The other option I'd look at is homeopathic remedies. A brand called " HEEL " is what I'd look for, and ask the natural health person for help. Lymphomosot would help with lymph drainage in her throat, and they might be able to reccommend some help with fighting off the bugs! Good luck!! My best wishes, Sarah Anne , " Daphne " <dmcgovern wrote: > > My 19 year old daughter has been ill for the last month or more with a > raw throat and severe nasal congestion and drainage. Guest guest
Daphne, Enzymes and probiotics might work for this. She needs probiotics to re-build the intestinal flora that got destroyed by the anti-biotics. Digestive Enzymes taken between meals help to clear the blood of all sorts of debris and act as an anti-inflammatory. Read more about enzymes here: http://enzymestuff.com I also posted a thorough article on enzymes a few days ago, look for it in the messages. Let us know how this goes! Guest guest
Eat paw paw, rub lavender oil on outer throat, gargle with salt water, eat garlic-lots of it for a couple of weeks, yogurt with acidolpholus, don't smoke, drink lots of water and eat celery to flush kidneys, if it continues after a couple of weeks, go to a homeopath or nutritionist or even your doc as it may be caused from some other cause. Drink red clover tea for a couple of weeks.add a little honey to soothe the throat. Ieneke van Houten <ienvan wrote: Daphne, Enzymes and probiotics might work for this.
