Guest guest
I'm not sure what type of rash my husband has, but it started out looking like a heat rash small reddish bumps on his arms and upper torso. I thought they had gone away, since he has been wearing long sleeve shirts etc... The other night he had a t-shirt on and I saw them all over his upper arms (biceps)... they are large red bumps. I asked him if they itched, he said " they usually itch later in the day after working all day " ... They are all over his arms and legs. He said they remind him of hives, except that he gets hives when he eats shell fish, or takes aspirin and when he does that, he really swells up and then gets bumps that look more to me like mosiquto bites...But, he does not eat shell fish nor does he take aspirin. I don't know if this has anything to do with it, but his scalp also what I would call a SEVERE CASE of dandruff, only it's more like a scale of dry skin all over his head. He has had that for a while now, and used " anti dandruff shampoo " but it does nothing to help. I have made him up an essential oil blend for his head, that seemed to start to work, but then he just gave up using it. So now the scally scalp is back... But, the rash is was concerns me the most. He is never sick so he does not have a doctor to go to, to ask what this is. He refuses to go to one of the urgent care clinics, and so the other night he took benadryl, but since that was the first time he took it, it did nothing. The pharmasist said for him to use a Hydrocortizone cream to help the itching, but it doesn't itch all the time. IT is really gross looking... very red, lumpy and inflammed looking... It is a rash that is pretty close together, not spread out wide... I don't know any other way to discribe it. However, I am hoping to get some feedback on what it could be, and what he could do to help it.. Any and all suggestions are welcome. Since I can't make him go to the doctor, I was hoping that this group could come up with some suggestions for me to try on him, and if that does not work, then maybe he will finally give in and go to the urgent care center, which I doubt. His insurance is not a very good plan and financially things are really strapped, so I know he will use the money issue not to go. HELP!!!! is there anything I can do, to try and figure out what type of rash this is... He has had it now for over 2 months. AS I said I thought it was gone, until I noticed it the other day when he wore a t-shirt. I look forward to your imput. Guest guest
get some aloe vera plants, very easy to grow. does not need much water but needs sunlight.Split a leaf and scoop out the gel. put the gel into a blender with a little witch hazel or water and some baking soda to make a spreadable paste. cover his rash at night and he can also dab some on in the morning on the worse spots under his clothes so he does not have white spots showing from the baking soda. bathe in the tub with 1 cup baking soda also each day for at least 20 minutes. for his hair, heat olive heal to a luke warm temperature and massage into scalp ,, cover with saran wrap and leave on at least 30 minutes. shampoo several times to remove the oil. Use only pure castille shampoo and rinse with apple cider vinegar diluted with water. His hair will be shiny and his scalp condition will also clear given a little time. If he uses any hair product then stop doing that. I would advise to use only castille soap as well as castille shampoo.( it is olive oil based.) taking fish oil and flax oil would probably help also as well as exposing the rash to sunshine each day for a few minutes. peace, thyme

**************************************
AOL now offers free email to everyone. Guest guest
Hmm...during a dinner-time ate pig meat, I could not sleep for a strong itch in several parts of the body, above the navel, arms, legs and feet... I was with a general doctor and injected me Hydrochlorate of cloropiramina thinking about an intoxication, but for the time being if functioned and subsequently revived, I was with a dermatologist and diagnosed me Atopic Dermatitis, which is genetic composed of 3 stages in life and I was in the 3a. phase (the last one) and got it for various factors, among them allergy to the meat of pig and other food, Dr gave me some pomades, some medicines and suggested me to use creamy soap Dove always, the processing functioned in the most of the body except for the feet in the area of the instep, and did not see a lot of improvement.. I went to consult another dermatologist and as soon as saw It told me that was allergic to the chemists with the ones is treated the leather of the footwear and should avoid contact with my skin (very common), suggested me to wear socks, my prescription was: Ebastina 20 mg 1 each 12 hours, to grease me desonida 30 grams twice a day and also pimecrolimus 1% twice a day, and since then I have seen improvement... I expect that my information helps is some, thanks. Guest guest
The combination with dry scalp might be a clue. Sometimes the lack of the right Essential Fatty Acids can cause a bumpy rash, especially on the upper arms. The lack of EFAs may be a problem of supply, or of absorption. If you are already using high quality good oils, like Virgin Olive oil or Coconut, Fish oil in caps, etc, then the problem may be one of absorption. In that case, try an enzyme blend high in Lipase. That is the enzyme that breaks down fat. If you are not sure about the supply side, a good EFA supplement like Udo's Oil blend or Carlson's Cod Liver Oil might help. If taking an EFA supplement makes it worse, perhaps congestion in the liver and colon is the main culprit. Good luck, and please keep us posted? We all benefit if people who come here looking for advice come back to let us know what is working and what isn't.
