Guest guest
Gosh, I'm almost scared to post ... since things are coming up in triplicates and quadruplicates! Your sister-in-law has the very serious form of the disease if it's involving the organs. I'm not sure how long she's had it, it might be it was during the time when they treated SLE with massive doses of prednisone, which eventually crashes the kidneys. Last I heard they treat the initially flare-up of SLE (if it's bad) with chemotherapy. Usually that's because of the horrible symptoms of swelling and other things going on. Those of us who have only had the positive ANA or anti-phospholipid tests (not a positive SLE) have never known how serious and painful the Big Stuff really is. I don't know how they are treating her daughter, but now that treatment is better it should spare her future organ involvement. Of course, eating well never hurt anyone!! Instead of going through all the stuff that's been written on SLE here on this group site, google " lupus " and also google " lupus alternative medicine " . You'll come up with a lot of information that you can read at your own pace. Dede
