I have another blood check in a month and I am wanting to lower these fast. Fish oil I know but how much and will red wine help?
Guest guest
I've heard the same as you of fish oil. Another thing may be to get your thyroid levels checked. It's not something that seems a common test in the human world, but with dogs, high triglycerides can mean hypothyroidism. (Hold on) I just looked it up and here it is: In human patients with full-blown hypothyroidism, serum levels of triglycerides, total cholesterol and low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol are elevated. In patients with subclinical hypothyroidism, not surprisingly, the same changes are present but are less marked and less consistent. This pattern of lipid abnormalities, of course, is important because it is a risk factor for atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease. Some studies,12,13 but not others,10 have shown a decrease in LDL cholesterol and total cholesterol levels after treatment with levothyroxine (Levoxyl, Levothroid, Synthroid). SO it's odd to me that M.D.'s don't automatically check thyroid in most case (instead of putting someone meds). This info's been out for quite while, look at the date in the link: http://www.aafp.org/afp/980215ap/adlin.html -Michele , " martiunderwood " <martiunderwood wrote: > > Help I have very High Cholestrol and Triglyceirds levels. Guest guest
How are you FEELING? What is the rest of youre health like? One of the best things to do for a healthy cholesterol balance is to cleanse the liver. If the numbers don't go down, you will at least have a clean liver and that never hurt anyone. There are many liver cleanses and flushes on the market. If you live in the country, eat some dandelions! What is your diet like as a rule? Guest guest
Your intake of omega 3 oil found in fish has to be very regular for it to be effective, and missing out on it can be as hazardous as missing out on an essential vitamin. The benefits are enormous, starting from being an important food for the nerves, fighting depression and dementia, to improving the health of the heart, reducing the chances of diabetes, and improving the functions of numerous organs in the body, reaching to the skin and hair. , " Michele " <michele wrote: > > I've heard the same as you of fish oil. Guest guest
Omega 3 has to be taken in combination with omega 6 and 9 for it to be effective, and the optimal omega 6 to omega 3 ratio is thought to be 4 to 1 or even lower. In my opinion, I think it is better to eat fish very regularly than to just take omega pills. , " Khalid " <khalidsahawneh wrote: > > Your intake of omega 3 oil found in fish has to be very regular for > it to be effective, and missing out on it can be as hazardous as > missing out on an essential vitamin. Guest guest
I have had tremendous luck with Solorays Guggle and Red Yeast Rice. I take 3 caps with 1 -2 meals a day. In a very short time I brought my triglycerids within normal range and my cholesterol down from 265 to 188.. I now have to work on getting my GOOD cholesterol up by doing some exercises, but my numbers with the total cholesterol and triglycerides have been great. AT one point my Triglycerides were up to 1100... I know that sounds unbelievable, but it is true. I tried " traditional meds " that my dr. wrote rx for, but they did not bring them down fast enough he wanted to keep upping the dose... But, I stopped taking those " drugs " completely and started taking the Guggle and Red Yeast Rice by Soloray and it went down so fast he thought it was because he doubled the dose of my Lipitor again... I never even filled the RX and have never taken it since. Good luck I hope it works for you. I don't know if other name brands have the " GUGGLE and RED YEAST RICE " in one capsule, but you can get that through www.vitaminshoppe.com and order it on line. It costs about just over $11 per bottle I usually try to get it when it's on sale and stock up, since I take it every day. (I also take Co Q 10 once a day) I had been told that I should take that if taking anything to lower Cholesertol that acts like a statin drug .... Let me know how it works for you Health and Blessings Gail , " martiunderwood " <martiunderwood wrote: > > Help I have very High Cholestrol and Triglyceirds levels.
