Guest guest
Hello, this is my first time to see this website and post. Please forgive me if this question has been asked before. :-) I'm currently in a job in Japan, and will be finishing my contract within a year. After that year is up, the sky's the limits for what I can do next before my next job. Something that I've really wanted to do is go to some kind of spiritual retreat - to meditate, eat vegetarian foods, be surrounded by nature and an environmentally healthy way of living - pretty much a total mind/body cleansing. I don't know if I'll be able to afford it for very long (at least not at the prices I've been finding). I would like to be there for at least 2 or 3 months. My question is - does anyone know of a good retreat that would allow me to work for room and board, or barring that, a retreat with low costs that would allow me to be there for a while? To be honest, I don't know much about retreats, but I really feel like my life is becoming more and more clogged with unhealthy things (food, habits, lack of spirituality, no nature around me, etc.). I want to step back and really cleanse myself of all that collected junk. Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated!!! :-) ~Erin~ P.S. I suppose it helps to know that I'm not part of any specific religion.
Guest guest
Hello, Erin, Sounds like a great idea. Have you looked into Unitarian retreat centers? Unitarian Universalists make up a liberal religious (I use this word VERY lightly) group that welcomes everyone. A few years ago, I went to Unicamp in Ontario, Canada for a weeklong spiritual retreat. I felt like I was on cloud nine. The spirit of the camp was so calming and positive. The people were really warm and friendly. The food was delicious. The natural environment was beautiful. Here's the website for the camp in Canada. http://www.gpcomp.com/unicamp/ Best wishes, Jen , " Erin (from Goshogawara) " <Jade_Frog wrote: > > Hello, this is my first time to see this website and post.
