Guest guest
I had been a passive member from the long time except reading the daily digests. I would like to have your valued views on a skin problem. My wife is suffering from skin rashes problem. This normally happens in summer(hot & dry atmosphere). Due to some food or if skin is scracheded (for e.g while playing with kids or due to ornaments or synthetic dress), skin gets thickened/swelles locally. But, within 10-15 minutes it starts spreading all over the body including face in terms of paches of different sizes varies from 5 mm to 100 mm in length & width(photo is attached). Also, swelling in the body starts on palms & may be on other places also. Water sometimes gives cooling / reducing effect, but not always. If it doesn't get solved automatically or water or other creams kind of thing than she takes hydroxyzine hydrochloride known as hyrex pills of 10 mg. This clears the issue for 4-5 days. Pl. advice with the medical name of the problem. Thanks a lot in advance. ______________________________\ ____ oneSearch: Finally, mobile search that gives answers, not web links. http://mobile./mobileweb/onesearch?refer=1ONXIC
Guest guest
Not being a pysician I can only give plausible estimation. It sounds like hives due to a systemic allergic reaction. If also with itching it might be called generalized urticaria. Often allergy symptoms like this are aggravated by heat and touch, thus the sensation of it being worse wearing some clothing, or when scratching or perhaps worse after a hot shower. It may be a mild allergy that worsens upon repeated exposure. I had something quite similar to wool, never noticed until I had a job that caused me to wear a wool coat much of the time in the winter.
