Guest guest
NORMAL fasting blood sugar is below 100......Anyone above 100 to 110 is at borderline risk and would need to be checked once in a while to see if it a one time thing or consistent. Fasting blood sugar ( below 100) is not eating any food or alcohol for 12 hours and drinking only water. Try that before taking the next test and if it comes out above 100- you need to find a doctor that can treat it correctly. I don't know who told you that anything below 160 was ok, because it is not valid to check it non fasting. It would affect anyone's blood sugar if you ate nothing but carbs, sugar and alcohol the day before. It cannot be done correctly to do a non fasting blood sugar- anything else just throws it all off. Good luck. > > I have not had any signs of trouble with my sugar levels for 50 yrs > just this last may the National Instru. of Health tested me and was > 110 normal ... > I get a simple work up at an a doctor that just keeps padding the > bill on to my Medicare bill and so all of a sudden my level is 157 so > more blood work most be done next week at $125. per blood work > I e-mail the nurse that is assigned to me by the NIH > She wants copies of the paperwork stating of the 157 because " It > should not be that high " > here's the question I try to be up on many medical things /items on > health care and in the my training no one should be concern until 160 > depending on the food i ate the night before > can i get some in put on this ??? >
