Guest guest
Ran across these while searching something else..and decided you all might find them handy! Suzi Cleaning & Disinfecting Recipes: Furniture Polish: *Before you use this it is important to be sure that your furniture can handle essential oils. As far as I know this has never harmed anyone's furniture , it is best to be sure though. Fill a one oz empty glass bottle with jojoba oil, about 3/4 full. To this add your essential oils. The only ones I have ever used on furniture have been ylang ylang, lavender, lavendin, patchouli & sandalwood. I have also added geranium to the lavender. Just add the oils that you are in the mood for. Lavender, sandalwood and ylang ylang smells wonderful when combined! Add about 20 - 40 drops of essential oil to the jojoba oil. Adjust the amount of essential oils according to your likes. Floors, Counter Tops, Bathrooms - the works! Essential oils are great to use in cleaning. They are naturally anti bacterial, and depending on the oils you add they can be anti viral and anti fungal as well. My favorite, and an inexpensive blend is simply lavender-lavendin & lemon. This blend smells great, will truly clean as well as disinfect! In addition to that if you are having problems with ants or creepy crawlers it will help deter them. A very uplifting way to get the household chores done...If you are using a bucket of water add about 15 drops of each oil. I always add more than that, but you can adjust it according to your likes, and it also depends on the size of the bucket you are using. 30 drops of essential oils will certainly be enough to get things clean, you can add more if you like. This is such a natural way to be sure that counter tops, bathrooms etc...are free from bacteria. Keep at the Bathroom and Kitchen sinks: Use a liquid soap, in a soap dispenser and add 6 drops lavender bulgarian & 6 drops t-tree to it. This will makes a very nice anti-bacterial soap. Drawer Fresheners: This is a fantastic way to scent your clothes, linens, anything you like. Mix together lavender buds (this is the herb, dried lavender buds), add your essential oils, mix the herb and oils well, and place in a tea bag. The tea bag is the secret, it allows the scent to be diffused as the tea bag is so light. Then from time to time you can just give the tea bag a squeeze to help release the scent. You can add whatever oils you like to the herb. My favorite is 6 drops rose geranium, 6 drops lavender mailette and 3 drops ylang ylang extra. This is a great blend for women, or linens. For men a good blend would be just lavender and cedarwood, equal parts or sandalwood & lime. For Children a good blend would be lavender & lemon, or orange.. Just be creative and blend according to your likes. The tea bags are easy to use, they have an opening where you add the herbs and then you just seal it with either a curling iron or a regular iron. It seals pretty quick so you won't need to leave the heat on it for any length of time. Exclusive Video Premiere - Britney Spears
