I'm at my wits end as to how to treat my 11 year old son. He is so

easily frustrated by whatever he percieves as failure that he just

strikes out in anger. Right now he's in his room with a bloody

tooth because he got so angry over loosing a video game that he bit

the controller. This is not a discipline problem because in every

other aspect he is very well behaved and, as much as an 11 year old

can be, respectful. I don't want to drug this child with ritalin or

anything similar. Is there an herbal remedy that could help?

Dear Sharon ,

Start looking into the ingredients of all the foods that your son eats.

Many of the food colours make a child react violently. Coloured sweets, coloured drinks, coloured breakfast cereals - even cakes have a yellow colour put on them to make it look as though they had egg in them. And artificial yellow colouring is the worst colour for setting children off!

Check also for monosodium glutamate [621] and any other closely related names [numbers] - they are Excitotoxins that cross the blood/brain barrier and over stimulate the brain cells to death. Aspartame [951] is another excitotoxin. Do look up MonoSodium Glutamate - as it goes under a lot of different names - like vegetable extract, vegetable protein - when in fact it is the scum scooped off vegetable waste that has been boiled in acid [that's literally how MSG monosodium glutamate is made.

And yes - no sodas - that's just putting carbon dioxide into you body under pressure - extra waste - heavier load for the blood system.

A combination of milk/wheat allergy can also create such behaviour.

It is a trial of one item of food at a time until you find out what is causing this reaction in your son. All the best,

Judith
