Guest guest
St John's wort oil is really good for forms of neuropathy and nerve pain. I am on another herb group and they have been talking about lobelia in a massage oil for pain. Have never used it but they sing it's praises ... also there is a product made by Heel, called Traumeel, that I use on my tomboy, majorly athletic, always bumpin' and bruisin 6 year old girl. This may help temporarily until you find out if it is from the gout. That's another story. diet diet diet Catherine M. Wood
Guest guest
Well Wendy, What is your partner like? Tall, big, small, lithe, skinny? What have you been doing for his "traveling arthritis" to date? What kind of work does he do? Is he on concrete a lot? What kind of physical impact does he put upon his feet during the day? Is he still eating meat? Is he still eating mucus forming foods? One thing I do when my feet hurt is to fill the tub (at least 6 inches) of the coldest water I can get and will even add ice to it to get it colder. Then I will place my feet in there and just bite the bullet. It hurts, oh man does it hurt. I leave them there until they are numb and then I remove them. This takes sometimes 15 minutes sometimes longer. I then let them warm up gradually whilst kicking back and chilling. After I get feeling back into my feet they feel like clouds stuck on the end of my legs. They will feel wonderful for days afterwards. It is never in the same spot eachday and it is usually between the metatarsals (I thinkI have my anatomy right after all it is 11.12 pm on aThursday night!) anyway, I don't know whether it ispart of his travelling arthritis he has and at presentsettled in his foot or whether it is the beginings ofgout (but he did not have these symptoms last time hehad gout (this was about 6 years or so ago now). Would anyone give him suggestions on what he shoulddo. The only relief is bed or foot rest or massagingthe area affected with a hand massager but worse forstanding or walking on it for long periods. I havechecked the nerve formular in the file but inAustralia we do not have ephedra and with the hoohahof what is happening with you guys in america I doubtI could get anyone to smuggle some in for me...didanyone ever find out what we could use in replace ofthat by way.Look forward to your suggestions...Wendy(Australia) ---Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Guest guest
It might be peripheral neuropathy, a disease of the nerves, where the myelin sheath surrounding nerve bundles is being destroyed by something or other. I have this, and it started years ago like gout. The pains out of nowhere come and go. Feels sometimes like you are stepping on a rock. Then stops and reappears somewhere else. PN can get much worse. windflower"Wendy ." <rowherb wrote: My partner (which has got me stumped) has travellingpain in his foot. Guest guest
Hi Anna, Now that I really can't say as I am not diabetic and have never tried it with someone who is. However, I don't see why it wouldn't. Right at this moment I don't see any contraindications in doing it, unless of course, they have gangrene or something. Then again, I suppose it would depend on how bad off they are. All I know is it works for me and works very well. Just gotta stand the pain for about 20 minutes till the feet go numb. But what a wondrous feeling afterwards. Guest guest
My dad used to keep a bucket of ice and water for my hand when we played volleyball. I had a defect in the carpal boss that wouldn't allow the tendons to slide over without irritation. So I had to wear a brace and he would have me soak it in the bucket afterwards. Really cut down on the pain and swelling.
