Don,

My partner is 82 kg and 6 foot tall with a large

frame. He only eats meat luckily once a week, fish

maybe up to three times a week and chicken once a week

if lucky and so our diet is mainly vegetarian due to

me not being much of a meat eater.

He hardly has any dairy products except maybe once a

week on cereal and then the milk goes out of date and

cheese in a salad, on a pizza or in his sandwich maybe

upt to 2-3 times a week and the margarine we use is

soy only, no dairy.

In the past he has psoriasis and we had treated that

with complete success and we thought that was the

result of his years of traveling arthritis and it did

stop for a while but now it is in his foot. I have

not treated it with anything at this stage and the

only supplements he takes is B complex, horseradish

and garlic when he has hayfever and my cold tincture

that I make up when he gets sniffles or a back ache

coming on and we nip the bug quickly. I am just

saying gout as of what he had many years a go but then

again it was sudden and I did treat it pretty quickly

resulting it to go away just as quick. He is not

working at present so does not stand for long periods

of time but the pain is never located to only one

spot. I think it maybe nerve related and would have

liked to make the nerve formula but we cannot get

Ephedra in Australia as it has been illegal for years

so unless someone can smuggle some in for me I was

wondering whether anyone has found a substitute for it

yet? Catherine suggested St Johns Wort oil and I do

have it in a tincture base so I could make up a cream

instead and see if that would work for him but I would

also like to treat him internally. I don't have any

MSM on hand and I owe my suppliers money to be able to

get any stock at this stage so I am trying to find

alternatives.

Well Wendy,

What is your partner like? Tall, big, small, lithe,

skinny? What have

you

been doing for his " traveling arthritis " to date? What

kind of work

does he

do? Is he on concrete a lot? What kind of physical

impact does he put

upon

his feet during the day? Is he still eating meat? Is

he still eating

mucus

forming foods?

One thing I do when my feet hurt is to fill the tub

(at least 6 inches)

of

the coldest water I can get and will even add ice to

it to get it

colder.

Then I will place my feet in there and just bite the

bullet. It hurts,

oh

man does it hurt. I leave them there until they are

numb and then I

remove

them. This takes sometimes 15 minutes sometimes

longer. I then let them

warm

up gradually whilst kicking back and chilling. After I

get feeling back

into

my feet they feel like clouds stuck on the end of my

legs. They will

feel

wonderful for days afterwards.

Hi Wendy,

So leave the ephedra out and make it anyway. Ephedra is more of a respiratory herb anyway.

Now is this pain located on the bottom of the foot predominantely or on the top? Also, how much exercise does he get daily?
