Guest guest
Norma, what are you able to get into him? Here are some suggestions. How about mullein? Have you tried the garlic clove suppository?? How about the vaporizer? or boiling water with ecualyptus eo and breathing in.. Do you have a juicer or blender? Give him apple juice, carrot juice, How much vitamin C? is it buffered vit c? Got any Vicks vapor rub?? (i know not herbal) however, I doubt if you have a chest rub formula on hand.... Also here are some suggestions.. Remember the 150 dosage rule... Echinacea, ginger, pau d'arco, slippery elm, and yarrow tea. Also, 1/4 to 1/2 tsp. lobelia tincture every 3-4 hours until fever drops. A tincture of goldenseal and echinacea is recommended for children. 8-10 drops in liquid every 3 hours until flu symptoms are gone. Eucalyptus oil: Put 5 drops in a hot bath or 6 drops in boiling water, put a towel over your head and inhale vapors. One tbsp. slippery elm bark powder mixed with 1 part boiling water and 1/2 cup honey will relieve cough and sore throat. Store in a jar and give 1 tsp. every 3-4 hours. Guest guest
When William was little, I would use a bulb syringe and shoot it to the back of his mouth, over his tounge. Then quickly fill it with water and wash it down 3 or 4 times. Start out with small amounts diluted with water or juice and increase as he will let you. Over time, William knew he had to take whatever was in that syringe and would take anything I gave him. Hope this helps, Ann I try hiding a tiny amount in a couple ounces of Whelches grape but he says it is hot and won't drink it. Please helpHis cold seems worse, with fever and goopy eyes and he feels bad.Any tips?thanks
Guest guest
Lobelia: Respiratory Problems, Asthma, Bronchitis, Colds/Flu, Constipation, Depression, Inflammation, Pain, Nervous System Catnip Tea for fevers. Mullein is an old-time remedy for bronchitis and dry, unproductive coughs. Mullein is a good expectorant, and in the process of clearing out the congestion, it also soothes mucous membranes of the respiratory tract. Eucalyptus essential oil... You can go to the drugstore, Walmart, etc and find a product called TAZ It is used in vaporizers.... It has eucalyptus, tea tree and peppermint oil in it.. Suzi PS Your husband sounds like mine...lolNORMAKUHLMAN <normakuhlman wrote: What is mullein??My husband is not into healthy living and is grilling a 15 oz steak as we speak..the garlic clove suppository would be too much of a struggle with him. I don't have any "ecualyptus eo" is that supposed to be ecualyptus oil, I don't know what the "eo" means, but I will seek some out tomorrow when the health food store here in Palm Harbor opens.I do have a juicer and I'm going to make the carrot/apple/orange/lemon drink tonight..it sounds great!! He might take it. I had success with carrot/apple in the past but then he started to just sip it and would never finish more than 2 oz. That was months ago. We will give it another go and if I let him help he will probably try it.what is "buffered vit c" ????I have Docs Lobelia tincture, I used it for my little one who had seizures. You say it will work for the fever? WOW!I don't have any goldenseal, can I just get some at the healthfood store too??thanks so much!!!! SiteBuilder - Free web site building tool. Try it! Guest guest
Have you tried giving him a "chaser" to go with it? That's what I do with my 6 year old. A glass of juice with the TT, and a seperate glass of just plain juice. A sip of the spiked stuff, two sips of the chaser, and so forth. Seems to work for Travis rather well. Guest guest
Hi, I usually prepare a pasta/rice meal for my 5-year-old and put the TT on it as flavouring! He loves it! I've introduced the TT to him as a garlic " food additive " and he has no problem eating his meal that way LOL love Lisa Belcher - " NORMAKUHLMAN " <normakuhlman <herbal remedies > Monday, January 26, 2004 1:22 PM Herbal Remedies - help giving ech/TT to 3yr old > thank you...great idea! > > > > herbal remedies , Tohelpwilliam@a... wrote: > > When William was little, I would use a bulb syringe and shoot it to > the back > > of his mouth, over his tounge. Guest guest
Blend in a couple of ice cubes and tell him it is a "magic shake" - sometimes cold frosty drinks go down better, and the extra water will only do him good.
