Guest guest
How about something like a hops pillow? I've heard that it can help you calm down enough to sleep. Never tried one tho, perhaps others can comment. On 8 Feb 2004 at 23:49, Lauren Bastow wrote: > Greetings All, > I'm that weird chick that goes off the deep end every time I pop out a runt (baby). Well here is the problem. I am pregnant again (mayday, mayday) and I can't get to sleep. I am not taking any sleeping pills for the sake of the little one. I have a 2 1/2 year old and a 8 month old with Hirchsprungs disease (parts of large intestine are paralyzed and they can't poop on their own). They are both on barley formula and Mg as a Band-Aid until they can take pills (IC#1). Actually this is not my problem. I think I have a hard time falling asleep because I am plagued with PBS (Phantom Baby Syndrome) (not a real diagnosis, just something I made up). When I am trying to go to sleep I always think I hear either my baby or my toddler crying or I hear my toddler walking around the house looking for me. My adrenals shoots up because I think something is wrong, but it's not real. I don't like to go to sleep because I am so tired of getting woken up by my baby. She is 8 months old and I finally put her in her own room about a month ago but I still wake up 2-4 times a night and have to walk across the house to tend her. So I finally sleep due to exhaustion and then I can never wake up in the morning. My house is dirty and there is dirty laundry everywhere. I can't get back in the saddle, so my question is this, is there an herbal thingie, I can take to knock my ass out at night that is safe for the little one and won't turn me into a junkie? Thanks for all your help. WHoa Tiger, You need to totally slow down re-evaluate your situation, sounds to me like things are really getting out of control over there. Don't you have a family who can help you get your home together and possible help you with your children so you can get a handle on yourself? I am not trying to upset you or be mean it just seems as though you are acting irrational and even talking (typing) like your having some deeper issues. Honestly, first thing is to get things in order, relax yourself, your children need you. Where is your husband in all this, isn't he helping you? Especially at nights... You need sleep to have good judgement during the day. You did the right thing asking for help here but I think we need to know if you have help or not at home! If not a husband can someone help you for awhile in the evenings so you can sleep AND the kids will be safe? Anyway please let us know who is all in the home or who can help at nights... Your situation can improve for you and your children so give us more info please. Also has there been any abuse in your life at anytime? Thanks and Take a deep breath.... Guest guest
Actually this is the most rational I have been in a while. you should have seen me about 3 months ago, whoa man, talk about psycho. My hubby is here and he does help a lot. I don't like him to take night shift because I have the option to take a nap during the day, he doesn't. I am going on 2 and 1/2 yrs of tending high need kids. I was doing some research and it sounds like Chronic Caretakers Syndrome. When one is deprived of sleep for extended amounts of time, I mean really I can't count the times I have had to give kids enemas in the middle of the night. As for abuse, oh yeah I've got tons of that. Father was a pedophile who never paid the utility bills and mom is and was a bitter hate machine that liked to throw us downstairs. I am actually happy though, I'm just sick of having audio hallucinations, that's all.
