Hi Becky...Here is some basic data on protien requirements that was posted to this list a while back . It may help . There are some terrific raw foods cookbooks available as well .And here is a link to a great website , Living Foods, where you can find raw recipes.

Protein Requirements The body cannot store protein, so it needs a fresh supply every day. The Food and Nutrition Board of the National Academy of Sciences has established a daily Recommended Dietary Allowance (RDA) for protein based on a person's age and weight. According toe the Academy, because most people in the United States eat meat and dairy products regularly, the average protein intake is higher than what most people need. So you should easily meet the following RDAs: The RDA for adults is 0.8 grams of protein for each kilogram (2.2 pounds) of body weight. This works out to 44 grams for a 120 pound person, 55 grams of protein for a weight of 150 pounds, and 66 grams for 180 pounds. These allowances assume that you eat a mixed diet of proteins - some high-quality (complete), some low-quality (incomplete). If, like most Americans, you consume mostly high-quality protein, your total requirement will there fore be slightly less. If you get almost all your protein from plant sources, it will be slightly greater. The variation due to the type of diet is no more than approximately 15 percent. Children under eighteen need some additional protein to allow for growth, and the younger they are, the more protein they need per pound of body weight. Pregnant women are allocated an additional 10 grams of protein per day by the RDA, lactating mothers an extra 12 to 15 grams during the first six months. Did you know? Beans provide nearly as much protein as meat, and are much lower in fat and calories. One cup of cooked beans contains 12 to 25 grams of protein, which is 25 to 50 percent of the RDA. Sources of Protein The foods below are all good sources of protein. The listed protein amounts are averages. Many foods that are relatively high in protein are also high in fat, so the chart indicates the percentage of fat accompanying each food. Try to limit your intake of protein sources that derive more than 30 percent of their calories from fat. Protein (Grams) Fat Calories Dairy and eggs Cheddar cheese, 1 oz. 7 70% Cottage cheese (2%), ½ cup 16 17% Egg, 1 medium 6 68% Ice cream, hard, vanilla, ½ cup 2 48% Milk, skim, 1 cup 8 5% Mozzarella, part skim, 1 oz. 8 56% Ricotta, part skim, ½ cup 10 53% Yogurt, low-fat, plain, 1 cup 12 25% Meat and fish (4 oz.) Most Americans exceed the amount of protein needed... We, as Americans, eat more meat than all the other cultures. Most make large veggie dishes and basically garnish with meat... We are backwards and eat the whole cow, etc! LOL

Hi Becky,

The Living Foods web site that Mary pointed you to also has articles which will tell you that there is an awful lot of protein found in raw fruits and veggies. Surprise! Sprouted almonds are also extremely high in protein. You can also do one or two raw eggs in your TN drink (organic, of course).

Do you feel that you need more protein when you're on all raw? Or is it just a general concern?

So I figure I need to relearn to eat, since my gov't indoctrination on the subject was all wrong. I know raw organic fruit and veggies are best, as well as sprouted grains, legumes and nuts. I also know TN is a great source of protien. Do I need more protien in a day beyond TN?

Panther Piss and vitamin E should help you.

That is the main thing I miss about eating the way we do now. Red meat!! I used to tell the waitress/waiter, "just show the steak a picture of flame, and bring it out bleeding and moo-ing". MAN!! I love red meat!!!!!

Sorry, drooled all over my keyboard. Guess I need a cold shower.

No, you take the vitamin E separate but you take it along side panther piss. Panther Piss has Organic Blackstrap Molasses in it which is rich with Iron. Iron has a tendency to use up the Vit E in your systemSuzi

Lauren,

Is this only when pregnant or all the time? Have you tried taking some ginger root tea... sometimes this helps the gag reflex.

I made the panther piss and find that the best way for me to take it is to take a tablespoon of it and put it in 8 oz of hot water and drink it as a tea. I used to do this with apple cider vinegar and raw honey, so now the molasses is just taking the place. I drink it in the morning and it psychologically looks like coffee and I think it tastes good.

By the way, I've just gone through the first 2 weeks of the cleanse and I'm on the second day of fasting on the liver cleanse and I have to tell you the absolute worst part of the entire thing are those hot/cold showers. They just kill me. I'm feeling good however and hopefully this will be the start of dropping the rest of the weight that I'd like to loose. I've dropped 11 lbs so far, so its a good start

ERR yes ! Avocadoes, Flax seed oil, all nuts, nut butters - almond, cashew,

peanut,

lentils, beans, coconut milk, tahini, things made with extra virgin olive oil,

i.e. hummus

made with beans, tahini and olive oil, you can use olive oil in hundreds of
