We can do this together! Love, Ellie > > Dear Family, As many of you might know, I recently moved to Charlottesville, VA. I was introduced to an interesting on-line community here called free-cycle, implemented to help keep useable goods out of landfills by offering them for free to anyone in need. This afternoon a request for clothing for children in Indiana came through the list. I thought I would share the post here, quite aware that our wonderful prayer group is powerful indeed. Please add this family to our list for prayers this week, and if anyone feels inclined to donate clothing to this cause. Let me know by replying to me at terri. I will put you in touch with the person sending the 'care' package! Here's the post I received: These kids live in Indiana and their Mom is an internet friend of mine. They are going thru some very hard times as she is ill. She's trying to get disability now. They live in a very rural place and do not have access to social service agencies that are miles away in bigger towns. They have no transportation. The boys size 8-10 slim and 10 regular are in dire need of clothes. The oldest came home with a note from the gym teacher saying that he cannot wear short shorts to school. She had no idea what she meant. The teacher had stated that she had to borrow shorts from the basketball sports team. Her son was embarassed. He then told her how he and his brother have been ridiculed at school for their clothing. We all know how hard it is in school. One boy is a special needs child which makes the situation even worse on them. My request is this: > I would like to gather some up to date fashionable clothes to send to them. I sent a few things my grandson had outgrown (he's 13), so that you know that are not for me. I would like new or next to new things. Nothing, pilly, old, smelly, stained, torn, etc. They need clothes the kids wear now. They need the longer shorts, cargos, painters jeans, longer t's, sport clothes stuff, ask your children, they know. Mom's please ask your boys if they have something they can't wear or don't want that is excellent condition. I will pick them up anywhere in Charlottesville only or if you would like to drop them off, I will be glad to give you directions. When I have a big box to send off, I will be responsible for the postage. Say a prayer for them and thank you very much. > Freecycle - changing the world one gift at a time. > Thanks in advance for all of your prayers! > Namaste, > terri2feathers > Radiating UNCONDITIONAL LOVE & Truth To ALL who share our circle – our universe, our love, our trust.
