LOSE THE PAST

 

A house with one bathroom, no ACs during heat,

 

we pushed the hand mower..my G-d, we were beat!

 

A time when mom tried to cook, often failed,

 

and doctors pushed pills on us...exhaust was inhaled.

 

 

The living room pieces were covered with plastic,

 

and relatives insults made us kids feel spasdic,

 

The basement was finished....well that's what some said,

 

but asbstos and pipes were all right overhead.

 

 

We argued 'bout TV, the kids never won,

 

So kids took some drugs thinking that was more fun,

 

The microwave popcorn had cancerous stuff,

 

we sugared and salted...it was never enough.

 

 

The clean pure white flour was lacking nutrition,

 

And chemical cleaners were stored in that kitchen,

 

Our moms scrubbed with Brillo which sometimes caused cuts,

 

we brown paper bagged smelly cold cuts for lunch

 

 

We picked at our pimples 'cause life made us nervous,

 

we downed too much ice cream, and maybe some sherbert

 

So few dined on yogurt, we thought they were sissies,

 

we thought that real sex was a few wet tongue kissies.

 

 

We had one good suit, and didn't dare get it dirty,

 

our shoes were for school...we often felt nerdy

 

We felt so much pressure from school and religion,

 

so some drowned in coctails, it caused a brain fission

 

 

So much for the old days, the internet talks,

 

today we can each be a " find the truth hawk " ,

 

So after much therapy, groups and what not,

 

We're glad we got free from bad treatment we got.
