Guest guest
Figuring water intake based on your weight, is very inaccurate for athletes and people in a hot environment due to water loss in sweat. Better to base it on urine volume, then the amount you sweat will also be accounted for. The elderly have to be particularly cautious as their cells don't absorb as much water. If they overdrink they can encounter potassium depletion, rhabdomyelysis, and renal failure, the most common cause of which is following instructions to drink more water.
