Try these home remedies for quick relief for dry, cracked skin>> But, on the other side of coin, here are suggestions for slooooooow, pre-emptive approach to (keeping skin from drying) take 3 Fish Oil capsules a day and take a couple Vit E. Also take high dose vit B and Biotin which is good for skin. Also, take Kelp cause your likely with an underactive thyroid which causes dry skin (and constipation and other). .. Try these home remedies for quick relief for dry, cracked skin: Place a vinegar-soaked cloth over the dry area for about 30 minutes to soothe the skin and prevent peeling. Why does it work? Vinegar helps rehydrate the skin and kill bacteria present. After showering, coat the driest areas (often your hands and feet) with vegetable shortening and cover with socks and gloves. Wear while you are sleeping. Why does it work? Vegetable shortening is an extreme moisturizer, and when left to soak in overnight, it will repair even the driest of skin.
