Guest guest
I'm looking for a good natural dandruff shampoo recommendation please. I was using Paul Mitchell Tea Tree Oil which worked well, but is full of other additives I'm not crazy about. I'm using head and shoulders right now and I really need something with less chemicals in it, but that still works. If you know of something, please let me know. Thanks, Paula
Guest guest
Massage your scalp every morning with coconut oil or jojoba oil before taking a shower. Ayurvedic science suggests a full body massage every morning with nourishing oils such as coconut oil. After a daily morning massage, take a shower and wash your hair with a mild castile soap that does not contain any chemicals. On a daily basis, feed your body internally with a rich source of oil such as a teaspoon of cod liver oil or flaxseed oil or capsules containing the omegas. I like to dry brush my body outside to remove all the dead skin, first, then massage the whole body with coconut oil, then off to the shower. I am in the process of learning how to make my own skin products and lip glosses and cleansing bath bars....NOT soap...cause soap has LYE. My daughter and I are getting ready to invent our first bath cleansing bars using oils. Both of us had such dry scalp it was embarrassing because we were covered with dead skin on our clothing. Kids in middle school made fun of my daughter. We just changed our cleansing products to Matrix only because she is modeling for this company, at present, and they are using these on her hair. But at home we are massaging every day with jojoba and coconut oil from the scalp down to the toes. Skin is grown at the bottom level of the dermis layer, and within two weeks it is pushed upward into the epidermal layer, and then out through the skin where it is sloughed off as dead skin. In a lifetime the body sheds 40 lbs of dead skin. Skin only lives two weeks and is shed off. I have heard Doctors admit that they don't know why we have dandruff or how to treat it. I believe some dandruff products continue the vicious cycle of dry scalp and excess layers of dead skin just so you keep buying it. I believe I am allergic to the ingredients in most hair products that is why it is good to rotate the products and try different brands. Try the daily massage - 3 - 5 minutes using fingers to stimulate and loosen the dead skin, then rinse thoroughly for several minutes. Feed the inside of your body with the omega-rich oils. Within a few weeks your dead skin (dandruff) should be gone. I attended a Scientific seminar yesterday at a University on HPV and altered cells. I will address what the Scientist said in another email regarding the usefulness of OMEGA OILS in the management of preventing HPV outbreaks. Fascinating seminar regarding her life work on studying the HPV in the laboratory - especially laryngeal cancer caused by HPV. in loving kindness, Linda ************************************** See what's new at http://www.aol.com
Guest guest
Joico makes an excellent dandruff shampoo. It even has a pleasant odor. I am a barber by trade and I think it is one of the best. For those with extreme dandruff problems, you might try a coal tar based shampoo. Guest guest
You can get an organic tea tree shampoo, pine bark also works as well as tea tree (though I can't stand the smell of pine bark shampoo). The things that have helped me the most is putting a water filter on my shower head, avoiding using styling products, and spraying my scalp with apple cider vinegar after washing. Let the vinegar sit for 5 to 10 minutes before rinsing it out. I usually do my other washing while letting the vinegar sit. This routine used to work like a charm before I was pregnant. Now my skin is just going crazy and nothing is helping. So as long as you're not pregnant, I'll bet this will do the trick for you. Good luck! Guest guest
We use a mild shampoo with nettle and comfrey tincture and hey presto no dandruff. The nettle helps the dandruff and the comfrey sooths so you don't necessarily need both. Hope this helps. Guest guest
- Hi There Paula, Your dandruff indicates that something is going on on your insides. It is a symptom of something that may be lacking in lifestyle eating plan. It may also be a symptom of being toxic. Are you getting enough Omega 3's? If not, you may want to consider adding some good quality omega 3's to your eating plan. You can get omega 3 by consuming avacado, eating wild salmon or even taking a good quality fish oil supplement. As for a shampoo, I would look for one that is not full of toxic chemicals. You can generally find a good shampoo at your local health food store. This goes for all personal skin care products. Our skin is the largest organ of the body and what you put on it matters as well as what you put into it. Everything gets absorbed through our skin. Guest guest
Unfortunately, our approach to healing in this country is hetropathic or going against a problem such as anti- histamine or in your case anti-dandruff .. The basic problem with this type of treatment is that we are fighting against our bodies and not working with them. 2nd this approach treats symptoms and not causes.Head and Shoulders fits this pattern . While it does treat dandruff it also can irritate the scalp and create more dandruff if you stop using the product. I believe our approach should be both internal and external. What is you diet like, is the too much 0mega 6 oils. I would make sure that that you're getting enough Omega 3 oil such as cod liver oil. There are studies that have shown that taking 2000mg. of primrose oil can help dandruff. I would wash my hair with pure soap and not detergents that commercial shampoos are made of..... Check your health food store for this. After washing your hair rinse it and a final rinse that you can make. 1 cup peach leaves 1 to 3 tlb. of nettles ; 1 to 3 tbl. of rosemary .simmer in a quart of water .Allow to cool and add 1cup of raw apple cider vinegar. You can add a biotin tablet to this. This old time formula worked great for my wife. As usual don't take this as medical advice.Let me know if you try it and it works .
