Guest guest
Ear Candling A bit of history - Ear Candling is also known as Ear Coning and Ear Cleansing with Herbs. This ancient healing art was used in initiation ceremonies by the Egyptians, Mayans and Tibetans. Dateline: 01/30/98 - I recently signed on to be available on staff as a resident healer on Tuesday evenings at a new wellness center opening soon in nearby city, Macomb, Illinois. Aside from offering our specialized healing services, Sylvia Runkle, the owner of Choices, suggests that the staff members learn how to do ear coning. Joining up with my friend and business partner, Liz Miller, we planned to incorporate experimental facilitation and experience ear coning during a Reiki share and luncheon affair. We starting out that morning by reading over the instructions that came with the ear cones Liz had ordered from Coning Works in Sedona, Arizona. In the morning, Liz performed an ear coning on me followed by a brief Reiki session on the head & throat positions. We took a luncheon break and ate some of Liz's delicious homemade bean soup and bakery-fresh breads while we chatted as friends do. After lunch we headed back upstairs to Liz's healing room where Liz had her turn on the table while I facilitated the healing while keeping close check on the flaming cone. The coning procedure itself takes under 30 minutes. Ear Canding creates quite a bit of smoke in the room so I do suggest when/if you to try this, you do it either in a well ventilated room or near an open window. Also, be sure to have a bowl of water nearby. Caution your client beforehand to have their hair free of flammable hair treatments such as hair sprays, spritzes, etc. Are you understanding that when you play with fire you can get burnt? Do be careful! My overall opinion with the coning experience itself was pretty neutral. I did not experience anything profound, yet I did not dismiss it entirely as having no benefit. I realize healing can be effective on a very subtle or unconscious level. I will be trying ear coning again, probably next week, since it is recommended that you perform the coning in three separate sessions (spacing them 3-7 days apart) to complete the cleansing process. “Fortunately art is a community effort - a small but select community living in a spiritualized world endeavoring to interpret the wars and the solitudes of the flesh.” -Allen Ginsberg Everything Natural http://health./ Everything Magick EverythingMagick/ The Pagan Housewife http://paganhousewife.blogspot.com/ Tales of a DIY Queen http://talesofadiyqueen.blogspot.com The Frugal New Yorker http://thefrugalnewyorker.blogspot.com/
