Weed “If you let that fiery wise blood just sit there in your belly, great granddaughter,†admonishes Grandmother Growth, “you'll get the urge to quench that heat. You'll get a tickle, a twinge, an urgent call. But you won't have the moisture you need. It's boiled away. It's gone up in steam. " “So I'll say it once more: circulate your wise blood, granddaughter. Spiral it around and up to your crown. Take action on your anger. Pleasure yourself. And you'll be one of those old crones, like me, whose eyes sparkle with mirth and flash with intention.†read the entire article, click here Empower Yourself Homeopathic Allies for Cold and Flu Prevention by Ellen Lanham-Dart Now I am one of the first in line when it comes to believing that sometimes we just need to be sick for a bit. The occasional flu or cold which allows the body to let go and the mind and spirit to rest is natural and can be a truly healing and immune strengthening passage. But sometimes, and hopefully it is only sometimes, we feel we may be “coming down with something†and know that there is no way that the opening will be there for it to be a restful or empowering experience. At times like this, when we know that to get sick will mean that we have to keep on while sick and thus deplete ourselves, it may be best to consider warding off the cold or flu before it takes hold. read the entire article, click here Wisdom Keeper Spirit Allies - Sychronicity, Signs and Omens by Karen Sawyer Are you paying attention? Your guides are sending you signs and omens to help point you in the right direction. There are a myriad of signs everywhere for the observant eye to behold. How you interpret the meaning of the signs you are shown is a personal thing wide open to interpretation (and misinterpretation!), as what one person may dismisses could be hugely significant to another. For example, whenever a friend of mine sees a specific courier van, this signals that an invitation is on its way. Some signs are obvious – their message is loud and clear. Others are more ambiguous. Your guides often like to leave a trail of very subtle clues that are not easy to decipher, often being metaphorical or symbolic in nature. read the entire article, click here Wise Woman Wisdom Herbal Adventures In Provence part 3 as seen in Sage Woman Magazine My capable mountain pony and I are following a barely discernible trail -- thank goodness for the lead horse's clearly visible tail -- through the wild mountain passes and lavender fields of Provence, in the south of France. Since morning we have been slowly wending our way up out of the valley and into the high mountain passes, through thickets of oak and pine which grow right to the edge of the trail. It is difficult to convince her to turn aside -- and I am loathe to force the issue given the narrowness and the steepness of the trail -- so I just lean forward and plaster myself to my steed's neck as she makes her way under the low-hanging branches. Warmed by the bright sun, the pine needles exude a deep, resinous scent. read the entire article, click here Anti-Cancer Lifestyle Shaking Down the Seeds by JoAnne Dodgson Wintertime has settled into the red rock mesas of northern New Mexico. The blue skies have quieted since the geese and sandhill cranes have passed by, boisterously celebrating their instinctual journeys to lands farther south. I rarely cross paths these days with coyotes and jackrabbits. There's a hush among the lavender since the hum of bumblebees has grown silent. The yucca and prickly pear cactus simply hold their ground, no new fruits or pods or blossoms, no visible signs of growth since the frosts. The quieting on the land and shortened hours of daylight have brought my winter homing instincts into full bloom – to be home by dark; to nestle in and embrace the quiet; to focus attention inwardly, like the trees, toward the core of my being and my roots. Jasmine, our beloved canine friend, blends her wild romps on the land with long winter naps, breathing in the earth and soaking up the sun. read the entire article, click here Goddess Speaks Spiritual Encounters with Hawks - Bird Vibes by Catherine Bastedo One day as I was enjoying a walk along the Ottawa River in the city of Ottawa, I saw a Peregrine Falcon lying beside the path. That was the start of my encounters with falcons and hawks, in both the real world and the world of dreams and meditations. When I walked into my first session with an emotional intuitive, a few months later, she told me that a hawk was sitting on my shoulder, not only that, but my hawk had a splint on its leg! Hawk is a symbol of the messenger, a powerful totem used from ancient times. As a totem, hawk is understood to be a symbol of the visionary, the creative force, the guide to one’s life path and the ability to see both the big picture and the details at the same time. It appeared that I had messages to deliver, talents to discover, and new images to see and create for others. According to her, my hawk had a splint because it had not yet realized its potential. read the entire article, click here Grandmother Gaia The Vagina - part 2 by Susun Weed Vaginal Exercises: Kegels Do you exercise your vagina? I do! Exercises for the vagina are called Kegels by doctors and vaginal clenches by feminists. Regular vaginal workouts not only keep your vagina healthy, they increase the strength of your orgasm and counter urinary incontinence and uterine prolapse. To do one: clench the entire pelvic floor — the vagina, the anal sphincters, and the bladder sphincter, then let go. To strengthen fast-twitch muscles that control the bladder, hold for two seconds, then relax for two seconds, starting with ten repetitions and increasing to one hundred. To strengthen the muscles involved in orgasm, hold for ten seconds, then relax for ten seconds, again starting with ten repetitions and increasing to one hundred. I do my daily clenches while waiting at red lights or in lines. read the entire article, click here Healing Wise Glorious Goldenrod by Susun S Weed As seen printed in Mystic Pop Magazine I love autumn; don't you? The days shorten and fall colors thrill my senses. Perennial roots get busy storing nourishment that will last them through the winter. And the meadows bloom with purple asters and riotous goldenrod flowers. Goldenrod (the Solidago genus, Asteracea family) is one of my favorite plants, and hopefully, soon it will be one of your favorites too. Before you complain that goldenrod is a pest and you're allergic to it, let me set the record straight: You aren't. No one is, no one can be, allergic to goldenrod pollen. Why? It has virtually none. What little pollen it makes is sticky, all the better to stick onto insects who pollinate the goldenrod. Only wind-pollinated plants -- like ragweed (Ambrosia artemisifolia), which blooms at the same time as goldenrod, and has an especially irritating pollen -- make enough pollen, and spread it widely enough, to cause allergic reactions. read the interview, click here In This Issue: Calendar of Events 2008 Mother and Child Empower Yourself Wisdom Keeper Wise Woman Wisdom Anti-Cancer Lifestyle Goddess Speaks Grandmother Gaia Healing Wise BIRD VIBES CARDS MOONDANCE JOURNAL DISTANCE LEARNING HONORING YOUR BELLY - NOW ON DVD Garden Plum Links BIRD VIBES CARDS Bird Vibes - a deck of 54 beautiful meditation cards by Catherine Bastedo Bird Vibes is based on 50 birds that may be seen in various parts of North America, grouped by eight chakras according to the bird's colour, habitat or other characteristics.
