Guest guest
Hello, My name is Jocelyn, I have UTI an kidney infections more often than I would like. #1, drink a lot of pure water at the bare minumum 6-8 glasses. Taking 2-4 TBS 3-4 times per day of Marshmallow root infusion really helps (That is what I have used in the past)! The classic remedy of cranberry juice really does help. Get the unsweetend natural kind. You can also use juniper berries and uva ursi as an infusion or tincture. For general weakness in your kidneys you can use this remedy: 1TBS Fenugreek seeds 1TBS Barley simmer in 1 pt. of water for 10 minutes Add 1T of chooped parsley steep for 5 min. strain Divide it up into seperate doses and take throughout the day. Frequent small doses are better than large not so often ones. The most important this is to increase your water intake immediately, and in the future make sure you are getting your recommended water intake (1/2 of your weight in oz.) Hope this helps! P.S. It also helps to get the bowel cleaned! I feel for you!! Jocelyn --- Kimberly Smith <k_frog100 wrote: > What's the best approach for a UTI in a female? Guest guest
Hi Kimberly, I know both cranberries and blueberries have something in them that keeps bacteria from attaching to the bladder wall. I would imagine juicing them, or getting unsweetened, organic juices and consuming them would help. -Raine Kimberly Smith wrote: What's the best approach for a UTI in a female? Guest guest
Hi Kim, Cranberries (diuretic), or juice preferrably with out the sugar, they sell the concentrate at the healthfood store.....add apple juice to sweeten, LOTS of diluted raw apple cider vinegar it alkalizes the system AND kills bacteria and colloidal silver if you have any, this will kill the infection post haste. You have to drink alot of fluid. Raw, organic garlic is very good at killing infections, but you have to remember to slice it length wise and coat it in olive oil before swallowing it. At least 2 cloves a day, more if you can. Anti spasmodic herbs will help alot too, if that is a problem and it may not be. Valerian, angelica, Cassia occidentalis, wild yam. Echinacea will fight infection AND strengthen kidneys. Take Care, fft herbal remedies , " Kimberly Smith " <k_frog100 wrote: > > What's the best approach for a UTI in a female? Guest guest
I don't get these much anymore, since I started taking cranberry pills daily. I get mine at, believe it or not, WalMart. They have a fairly decent herbal section. Good luck. Stacy herbal remedies , " Kimberly Smith " <k_frog100 wrote: > > What's the best approach for a UTI in a female? Guest guest
Fresh cranberry juice- as much as you can stand to drink. A few teaspoons of apple cider vinegar in a glass of water will help dramatically. I used to have a UTI every month. After drinking apple cider vinegar and a glass of cranberry juice a day, I no longer have them. herbal remedies , " Kimberly Smith " <k_frog100 wrote: > > What's the best approach for a UTI in a female? Guest guest
Forgot to add this in my last reply- Honey Bush Tea is pretty good for your urinary tract. Corn Silk can help to soothe the burning and inflammation of your urethra, and Bucho works as a disinfectant to clean your urinary tract. herbal remedies , " Kimberly Smith " <k_frog100 wrote: > > What's the best approach for a UTI in a female? Guest guest
Susan I have had urinary track infections and if it isn't too far gone, DROWN yourself in cranberry juice (unsweetened, you can use the kind sweetened w/apple juice, but I would recommend mixing it with the pure cranberry juice) and have a glass by your side all day and before bed, first thing in the morning. You need to continuously flush your system with this, do it for about 10 days. By the end of the 10 days, you will be so tired of cranberry juice. You can still eat your regualar meals, but NO sugar at all. Also, add blueberries to your diet at this time. It has worked for me on 3 different occasions. Guest guest
A lot of lemon water. Yes, It is that easy. Cut lemon, sqeeze, drop lemon into a glass of water(make sure you do this part, the skin contains the essential oils), drink, repeat. I usually use 1/4 lemon per 16oz glass of water. I drink two immediately, then I drink one every time I think about it or I get thirsty. This has worked for me 100% of the time. Antibiotics did not always work for me. Good luck. susan <SuppyZ wrote: I just got a call from my Dr saying that I had a uninary track infection. They want me to use antibiotics...which I am not too keen on doing. Guest guest
You can also buy the frozen Minute Maid 100% pure lemon and keep some in the fridge. When I get a glass of water, I just squeeze a little one and voila! My fresh squeezed lemon in water! My mother in law used to get them a lot and pure unsweetened cranberry juice was her salvation. Once I got rid of one quickly by consuming a pure cranberry juice concentrate from the vitamin store. Beside finishing the small bottle within two days, I also drank glasses of pure unsweetened cranberry juice throughout the day. It completely wiped out the infection! Guest guest
I have successfully used cranberry extract capsules for this condition. If I have pain, burning too then I take an advil, use a heating pad, take the capsules - several at first - and lots of water. It always works for me. Because of all the UTI's I've had over the years, I have scarring of the UT and things like exercise, etc... can make it feel like I have a UTI when in fact I do not - the culture is negative. I just follow my above routine. It may be that you will need something stronger to knock out the infection and then use the cranberry capsules for maintenance. I haven't had to use antibiotics in years. Ruth Ann
Guest guest
What's worked best for me in the past is NutriBiotic's Grapefruit Seed Extract. The stuff is amazing! Guest guest
Pure cranberry juice. 1 bag fresh cranberries 4 cups pure water Place in saucepan, heat until skins pop let cool and strain, you can sweeten with stevia If too strong you may dilute it with more pure water This works for me everytime. Oregano Leaf Tincture also is very helpful. 8-10 drops in warm water and drink. Do this several times a day. Jenny Kernan > Does anyone know of anything good for a urinary > track infection? I used a strong 'concentrated' bottle of pure cranberry juice, with two larger bottles of pure unsweetened cranberry juice from the 'Vitamin Cottage' store. The first day I drank 1/2 of the highly concentrated juice, and a couple of glasses of the other cranberry juice. The second day, the same thing. On the third day I just finished off the larger bottles of the regular pure cranberry juice. I wouldn't waste my time with the pills, I don't think they're powerful enough to knock out the infection. My mother in law, before she passed on, was in her eighties, and used to get frequent UTI's, until we convinced her to make pure cranberry juice a part of her everyday nutrition. I helped her a lot. Guest guest
Corn silk tea. Drink one teacup full every hour the first day along with plenty of filtered water in-between. You can buy corn silk through bulk herb companies. It is inexpensive and works remarkably. I keep a pound in my freezer at all times. Colloidal Silver: One ounce every hour. Make your own inexpensively. This will kill any bacteria or viruses. Vitamin A: 50,000 I. U. for seven days then cut back to 25,000 I.U. for another week. Finally use a maintanance dose of 10,000 I.U. daily. This is good for all mucus membranes and quite healing. Stay away from acidic foods and drinks along with spicy foods. Keep your system as alkaline as possible. There are many good books on this subject. Homeopathic remedy: Cantharis 30X every two hours for the pain. Should work quickly. Guest guest
For the uninitiated, it's urinary tract infection. In the past, I used water-soluble Vitamin A, plus Vitamin C. Important to find water-soluble A because it's one that is possible to overdose on. I took two tabs at a time, when the pain returned (after a couple of hours), two more. In 3 days it was down to one tab every 12 hours. This is great for ear infections as well. My grandkids were prone to them. My daughter was reluctant to substitute a vitamin for antibiiotic, but it worked well. No side effects.Curious to know whether CS is as good! Hoping you feel better soon, Rhoda
