Guest guest
A new report shows that Big Pharma spent $168 million to lobbyfederal lawmakers last year on key legislation, like fending offefforts to restrict drug advertising. The first few years a drug is onthe market is when harmful side effects are likely to emerge, but thepharmaceutical industry wants to get these new drugs -- and theirflashy TV ads -- out to the public as quickly as possible. It's time that Congress to listen to you, not Big Pharma. Tell your lawmaker to stand up to the pharmaceutical giants and protect your family » Abill was introduced recently in Congress that would ban advertising ofnew prescription drugs and devices for the first three years on themarket. Banningad campaigns for the first three years will at least keep new drugsfrom being overused until their risks are better known. It's time for the pharmaceutical giants to back off—for the sake of our health and that of our families.
