Guest guest
One of my all time-favorite websites is Dr. Leslie Taylor's Rain-tree.com She has compiled a plant database of the many plants and herbs used by indigenous peoples of the Brazilian and South American rain forests that has to be seen to fully appreciate it. It has information about historical use, modern studies, plant compounds, side effects and more. I urge everyone to go take a look and browse a bit. You can search by common name, botanical name, ethnic uses, conditions and actions. Here is the link to the common name database: http://www.rain-tree.com/plist.htm As an example, some of the plants used by indigenous peoples for cancer include: graviola, espinheira santa, mullaca, mutamba, vassourinha, bitter melon, guacatonga, simarouba, cat's claw, anamu, pau d'arco, fedegoso, sangre de grado, suma, amargo, copaiba The rain forests really are the natural lungs and pharmacy of the earth. Go visit and take a tour around the site - it's a treat! oleander soup , Saralou <RoseOttoGroups wrote: > > One other thought on Lemongrass and other herbals as cancer remedies... > The only place I know (very limited knowledge) Lemongrass is used much > in cooking is Thailand.
