Guest guest
Margaret funny you asked that question, here is your answer...my sister asked her pastor this very same question and here is the reply....many hugs and thanks to all for their condolences for us, is very hard right now to reply to all but will later... Hi Cheryl, Thanks for the question. I think it is a good one. I love animals too so I share your concern. In Genesis God created animals and pronounced them “good.†The animals didn’t rebel against God in the garden, people did. So in one sense they do not need “salvation†the way their human brothers and sisters do. Of course, God destroyed the world, except for those on the Ark, in the flood. But then we have the wonderful covenant that God made with ALL creatures (Gen 9:8-17) not just humans, never to destroy them again. Then we have the prophets telling of that glorious future day when the lion and the lamb will lie down together. Clearly God’s Kingdom and vision for peace includes animals. Then we have Jesus telling about the sparrows, and how not one hops upon the earth without God knowing. God’s providence is over all creatures. Finally, we have “For God so loved the world…†(John 3:16) and the word that is translated “world†really means “cosmos†or entire universe, or all created things. So again, God’s love for all things he has created, and the power of Jesus to make all things new, is clear. I completely believe that animals when they die go to be with God. If anything, they are the innocents among us and deserve eternal life without the pain and fear they so often experience here on earth. I believe that when an animal suffers, God is waiting with open arms to welcome and comfort them. I will be praying for your sister’s dog!Looking for a car that's sporty, fun and fits in your budget? Guest guest
Bonnie, The pastor's message is absolutely beautiful and I agree with him wholeheartedly. How many times do we see the word " creature " in the bible?
