Guest guest
Hi Guys, My family are relatively new at alternative treatments, but we're going at it in a really big way. My children got most of their vaccines when they were children (enough to get them into school), but we didn't do antibiotics except maybe twice, no steroids, and mostly only visited the doctor when a bone was broken. I've never really been a big fan of modern medicine, so we treated a lot of things at home. Here's the thing. I work as a medical transcriptionist for a very large hospital. One of the things I am hearing a lot is about parents taking their children in to the hospital for whatever reason and the medical staff calling social services because the children have not had their vaccines for whatever reason. This is extremely concerning to me, because we are expecting 2 new grandbabies in the next couple of months and I have strongly recommended to our daughters that they need to go as natural as they possibly can with these children. We know how to treat the majority of illnesses that come through, but what happens if and when we get a broken bone or something happens that we need a diagnostician? Do we lie and tell them that these children have had their vaccines or what? I HATE that the government is so involved in our lives that we cannot feel comfortable taking control of the health of our children and our grandchildren. I have heard cases of Stevens-Johnson syndrome caused by antibiotics given for stupid reasons, yet the parents are still hotlined because the lesions " look " suspicious. Of course they look suspicious, but NOT because of anything the parents did (except listen to a " practitioner " ). Hearing stories on the news about children being taken away from their parents and being forced to undergo chemotherapy, even though the parents KNOW there are alternatives, also upsets and concerns us. Does anyone have any answers to help alleviate the anxiety I'm feeling over trying to keep these soon-to-be-born children out of mainstream medicine? Any answers will be greatly appreciated. Guest guest
Shara,Here is a link from Mercola that tells you how to legally avoid all types of immunizations.http://www.mercola.com/article/vaccines/legally_avoid_shots.htm It is a shame when we when we have to live in fear because of government control and in many ways the medical profession is an extension of this government control. There are ways to get around this issue legally and assert our rights. We just have to be educated in this regard.I am also going to refer you to an article at The Best Years in Life with regard to this subject: Good for you in recommending to your daughter that they raise their children naturally. You are insuring their health, wellbeing, and happiness by doing so. We have reached a point where we must be informed in order to stand up for our rights. I wish you the very best.Hugs, oleander soup , "blondfury123" <showard208 wrote:>> Hi Guys,> My family are relatively new at alternative treatments, but we're > going at it in a really big way. Guest guest
May, Thank you for your quick response and for the links. I will definitely check these out and put them in my favorites for future reference as well. You guys have been such an inspiration to us as well as providing invaluable information when I was in an absolute panic. My husband has seizures, and I am happy to report that he is completely off ALL his doctor-prescribed medications and is now on all herbs. He still has the seizures, but they are not as severe and are quickly controlled with the herbs, whereas with the medications, we would have to just let them run their course because of possible side effects. My last experience with the medical profession was several years ago after a car wreck where my back was severely injured. I was having symptoms of urinary incontinence and was in diapers (I'm not a spring chicken, but I wasn't old enough for diapers yet, either!!) because of what I thought was nerve damage in my spine. After about a million visits to different doctors, I was finally referred to a urologist who put me on Enablex. Well, after I took 1 dose, my head felt like it was full of pudding! You know the cartoons where the cat gets hit in the head and his eyeballs spin around for a while? Well, that's how I felt everytime I sat up. I knew it was from the Enablex, but I continued to take it for about a week. The incontinence went away, but the feeling in my head was unbearable. I decided I would rather wear diapers! During this time, I had mentioned to my PCP about the " head " thing I had going on, so she prescribed me meclizine for vertigo! Treating symptoms rather than getting to the root cause. I didn't take the meclizine, either. Anyway, my youngest daughter had cystitis and wanted me to get some cranberry pills to help her with that. Since we already had them, I decided to take them too as a preventative for a UTI, since the Enablex had actually caused some urinary retention and I wasn't sure if maybe there was a bacterial thing going on too. Long story short (too late, I know), the cranberry pills got me out of the diapers in less than a week! The urologist never mentioned the possibility of me having a UTI as the cause of the urgency I was having, all he did was to tell me that there was no nerve damage in my back, but I was getting old and had an overactive bladder! That was really the beginning of our trip toward going all natural in health treatment. And, we are much healthier and a LOT happier than we were when we relied on the doctor to " know " how to fix the problem. We are so blessed to have you, Tony, Dr. Loretta, and ALL the wonderful folks who either know or are able to find the answers for us. Thank you again for all that you do. (Oh yeah, and thanks for the oleander soup for pets, too!) Guest guest
Bless your heart Shara, thank you for sharing your story and yep.... doctors have a lame excuse for everything. Problem is, I don't think they know what to do when a prescribed medication does not work or has an adverse effect. I am also very glad that your husband's seizures are much better. This goes to show that natural healing is what really works. Hugs, oleander soup , " blondfury123 " <showard208 wrote: > > May, > Thank you for your quick response and for the links. Guest guest
Some states allow philosophical and medical exemptions. As a med transcriptionist, you will probably know that what used to be considered serious adverse reactions, are now considered "normal" & "expected" so I would not go with a med exemption - they are saying it is safe to vax kids who have had encephalitic screaming & subdural haematomas!!!! Here is a good link.ttp://www.nvic.org/state-site/state-exemptions.htm All the best with your grandbababies - hope the parents have extensive birth plans as many places are pushing the Tdap on just delivered mothers, also on both parents of prem babies. If they have NO vaccines, Vit K & eye goop in their plans, make sure someone is with the babies 24/7 - don't let them take them away for "clean up" or any other reason. There are quite a few anti-vaccination & vaccine injury groups with world-wide members. Bound to be some in your area too. Guest guest
Maracuja, I looked up our state exemptions and they are very vague, as I'm sure most are. We are actually planning on homeschooling the grandkids, and were hoping this would take care of that problem. I'm not sure it will, though, after what I've heard through my work. There are so many drug-induced ailments now, it really makes me angry. I remember years ago listening to some drug commercial that stated it had a side effect of flu. Um, isn't the flu caused by a virus? If so, then how can a medication cause the flu? Anyway, that was just one of the things that helped turn us against medications, along with a doctor trying to give me antibiotics for my child who did have the flu. When I asked him why he would prescribe an antibiotic for a virus, he told me that most moms would not leave until he gave them antibiotics, even if they weren't going to be effective, and he just assumed I was " one of those. " Wow, I refused the antibiotics and then didn't go back to him again! Another doctor diagnosed my infant daughter with an ear infection because " Ear infections are the most common cause of fever in young children, " and sent me home with amoxicillin for her. The next day she broke out with roseola! Another doctor down the tubes! I must say that one of our daughters' doctors is absolutely wonderful. He is going to let whomever wants to be in delivery be there. I am going to get to cut the cord, and I also plan on being the one to bathe the baby. They don't know that yet, lol. I may have a tough time with our other daughter, since her husband isn't overly fond of me...we'll see, lol. Thank you for the information on the groups. I will definitely check them out. We would really like to be completely outside the box in terms of society, but right now that's not possible. One of these days we will be, though. I'll let you guys know how it is when we make it, lol. Thanks again for the information. Shara oleander soup , Maracuja <howdurdago wrote: > > Some states allow philosophical and medical exemptions. Guest guest
Sorry - just thought of something else - your grandbaby's cord blood belongs to your grandbaby - don't let them push you into cutting it prematurely! Sometimes they are cut before it has even stopped pulsing! Rotten beggars! There is plenty of time, despite the hospital's frantic schedule. If I'm sending coals to Newcastle, let me know! Guest guest
Maracuja, You're absolutely right. We've already talked to the doctor about that. We considered banking the cord blood, but we're a relatively healthy bunch so we decided to let him have it all in the beginning. My concern is that our other daughter's doctor will try to push her into a cesarean section. She was my doctor back in the day, and I liked her, but I'm more impressed with the doctor our youngest daughter has...he's already said he'll let her progress as she will with no rush to get him to the golf course! We were impressed! We also know for sure that our youngest is NOT going to circumcise. Our older daughter is a bit rebellous and argumentative, so we'll see. Sigh...how could I have given birth to 2 such different creatures?!? Guest guest
My girls are very different creatures, too. One into health in a big way, the other just beginning to a little bit - dissatisfied with all the stuff her dr is doing, and the third won't take anything that is a prescription but loves soda. It is trying at times to see them do things that you know will hurt them later, try to say soemthing so that they will listen and try to find a balance so that they will not push away from it too much. Janna -------------- Original message from "blondfury123" <showard208: -------------- Maracuja,You're absolutely right. Guest guest
Both my children are totally mainstream. Unfortunately. My daughter will listen to me, but so far is not following my advice in any way. Recently, she shared with me that she has fibroid tumors in her breasts and, of course, they want to do a mammogram. I begged her not to do it, and, as far as I know, she has not had a mammography. whew. However, as far as I know she is not taking oleander either, or following a healthy protocol of any kind. Earlier this week we did have a conversation where she did seem to be listening and I even invited her to join our group. Although this was encouraging, to date she has not joined the group and I don't believe ordered OPC. Hugs, oleander soup , cr8iveart wrote: > > My girls are very different creatures, too. Guest guest
Sahra: Here is a site I ran across which shows all the vaccines and what's in them. Incredible. If I told the doctor I was going to inject my child w/ mercury, formaldehyde, aluminum, I'd be looking at the inside of the nearest jail. But they do it and get paid for it. Hmmm. http://www.informedchoice.info/cocktail.html oleander soup From: dukesdealsDate: Thu, 11 Sep 2008 20:05:58 -0700Re: Vaccines and the law Sahra: Only a religious connection can keep them at bay and you need to have some documentation to prove it. It will work in every state. I have heard cases of Stevens-Johnson syndrome caused by antibiotics given for stupid reasons, yet the parents are still hotlined because the lesions "look" suspicious. Of course they look suspicious, but NOT because of anything the parents did (except listen to a "practitioner" ). Hearing stories on the news about children being taken away from their parents and being forced to undergo chemotherapy, even though the parents KNOW there are alternatives, also upsets and concerns us. Does anyone have any answers to help alleviate the anxiety I'm feeling over trying to keep these soon-to-be-born children out of mainstream medicine?Any answers will be greatly appreciated.Shara Want to do more with Windows Live?
