psoriasis revisited

i've read through all of the posts dealing with psoriasis and i would greatly

appreciate

some sage advice because my psoriasis is getting worse, not better.

1. all of the general health protocols that i have read mention getting sun

every day. i'm

in reno and it's getting cold, so rather than natural sun every day, could i go

to the

tanning bed for like 5 mins a day? there is a tanning salon by my house that

has unlimited

tanning for 20 bucks a month.

2. i have colloidal silver, sutherlandia opc as well as an assortment of

vitamins, minerals

and lots of different varieties of beneficial oils. i take CS separately, but

should i take the

OPC separately from all of the other supplements or is it okay at the same time?

3. i guess my question is, does anyone know of a good psoriasis specific

protocol or is

there anyone here who would be willing to help me set up a specific plan to beat

this?

there isn't one that i could find on TBYIL.com. i am serious about fixing this

because it is

affecting my personal life and intimate relationship.

blessings,

RAZOR.

ps: thank you for opening my eyes. i came upon this group several months ago by

accident and it is the best thing that has ever happened to me, health wise.

Razor,Have you tried making the oleander soup lotion? This should be very effective. Below is the link.

The Recipe for Oleander Soup Part 1Whatever you do, do not go to a tanning salon. It is in no way the same as sun and actually harmful. Here are herbs that should help this condition:Burdock root and red clover cleanse the blood.Poultices made from chaparral, dandelion, and yellow dock.Add 2 teaspoons of ginger to your bath water. To reduce redness and swelling, lightly brush off scales with a loofah and apply alcohol free goldenseal extract.Lavender is good to use in a sauna or steam bath. It fights inflammation and soothes and heals irritated skin.Sarsparilla and yellow dock are good detoxifiers.Silymarin (milk thistle extract) increases bile flow and protects the liver, which is important in keeping the blood clean. Take 300 milligrams three times daily.Wild pansy.Eat a diet that is composed of 50% raw foods and includes plenty of fruits, grains, and vegetables. Include fish in your diet, as well.Get plenty of dietary fiber, Fiber is critical for maintaining a healthy colon. Also do a colon cleansing.Use fish oil, flaxseed oil, or primrose oil supplements. They contain ingredients that interfere with the production and storage of arachidonic acid, a natural substance that promotes the inflammatory response and makes the lesions of psoriasis turn red and swell. Avoid red meats and dairy products. They contain this arachidonic acid.Apply seawater to the affected area with cotton several times a day.Use cold pressed flaxseed, sesame, or soybean oils.Do not consume citrus fruits, fried foods, process foods, saturated fats, sugar, or white flour.Unfortuntely, there is no known cure for psoriasis. Hopefully, the above will give you relief and do away with flare ups.I really hope this helps Razor. Please keep us posted. And I am so glad you found this group, even if it was an accident. wow, luella thank you! the info you provided is invaluable.

i do have a few more questions, if you don't mind.

1. i currently have coconut oil, EP oil, fish oil, cod liver oil, olive and

flaxseed oil. in grand

national razor fashion, i bought them all and i am taking them all. is this

necessary? does

it help?

2. would ACV baths or epsom salt baths be good things to do? thus far i have

been

alternating them every other day. i have found that they help with the itching.

3. i understand that cow is out. can i still have poultry or pork? shellfish?

thanks a million, everyone.

regards,

NATIONAL RAZOR.

Hi Razor,Let me see if I can address your questions bit by bit.All the oils you mentioned are beneficial, expecially coconut oil and cod liver oil.Apple cider vinegar (Bragg's) in your bathwater is also good. And, as a matter of fact, I just read that taking apple cider vinegar (Bragg's), together with raw honey three times a day before meals is also very beneficial. Of course, if you should be diabetic, don't take the honey.Instead of epsom salts, use sea salt. And, actually Utopia Silver has a high grade quality sea salt that I use exclusively. And as for diet, I would do without pork and shellfish. I would limit my diet to poultry and fresh water fish.I sure hope I have helped Razor.Hugs, oleander soup , "nationalrazor9" <restrictionsapply wrote:>> wow, luella thank you! the info you provided is invaluable. > > i do have a few more questions, if you don't mind. > > 1. i currently have coconut oil, EP oil, fish oil, cod liver oil, olive and flaxseed oil. in grand > national razor fashion, i bought them all and i am taking them all. is this necessary? does > it help? > > 2. would ACV baths or epsom salt baths be good things to do? thus far i have been > alternating them every other day. i have found that they help with the itching. > > > 3. i understand that cow is out. can i still have poultry or pork? shellfish?> > > thanks a million, everyone. > > regards, > > NATIONAL RAZOR. > > > > > oleander soup , " May" luellamay129@ wrote:> >> > Razor,> > > > Have you tried making the oleander soup lotion? Pardon me for jumping in here. I have been doing all that for severe eczema. Skin was de-fatted due to pesticide.

I make no headway though. I have just done a 9 day water fast & I'm still struggling. Any suggestions? Have done liver & gall bladder cleanses also.

Something that you might want to try/experiment

with and could probably get me kicked-off most natural medicine lists is

Listerine. Certainly not something I would normally recommend. J You must use the regular Listerine

(no generics) with no added flavoring. If the skin is broken it WILL

burn, so it is best to apply to skin that is not broken. Apply several times

daily with a cotton ball. No one is really sure why Listerine works to

cure psoriasis and also eczema so well, but many claim to have eliminated

flare-ups for long periods of time, and even forever. The main ingredient in Listerine

is non-edible alcohol, which kills germs. It also contains menthol, thymol, and

eucalyptus. Another ingredient is methyl salicylate, which is related to

aspirin. It kills some of the germs and partially numbs the skin. So,

obviously the ingredients are not pristene by any means and certainly not

all-natural.

While using the Listerine, get on a

healthy diet that uses only good oils, plenty of pure, clean water, continue to

flush the liver/gallbladder and digestive tract, parasite cleanse, REDUCE

STRESS (very important as stress tends to be a pre-cursor to flare-ups) and

eliminate any environmental toxins (chemical, toxic air, aerosol sprays,

etc.) Use castille soap and all-natural skin-care products. Make

sure that you shower/bathe in clean water (shower filter) – do not put

any part of your body in chlorinated water.

Sometimes the body needs a little bit of help and skin conditions can really

affect the emotions also. I know one lady that had psoriasis most of her life

and began using Listerine and it cleared completely up with six months and she

has had no more problems going on two years now. One of my family members

is using it right now for eczema that has been on one finger for almost 9 years

and within a week we are seeing remarkable improvement.

Thank you so much! I think I had better check my eyesight as well!

I seldom use anything directly on my skin as it is too painful. If I can break the itch scratch cycle, it may be a lot easier to heal. I'll work my way through that list. The only one I've used is the pine tar - & discovered I am now allergic to pine.

Thanks again.

Thank you so much for that.

The ingredients may not be pristine, but considering the toxic garbage that caused the problem, I shouldn't imagine it would do as much damage, nor as much damage as the standard steroids and antibiotics used to treat eczema.

I turned down the P-UVA treatment as they were only going to stick my hands in the light box - as though they are detached from the rest of my body! Yet the rash is all over my limbs and midriff. Weird!

Anyway, I called DH & he is going to pick some up on his way home. Can't fit shoes on yet to get to the store. The swelling does go down while I sleep. CS cleared the rash off my face and ears, but it persists elsewhere. I was contemplating borax next.

I can hardly wait!

Psoriasis is not primarily a skin problem. The skin symptoms are secondary. Look into getting a Comprehensive Digestive and Stool Analysis through a chiropractor or naturopath or a holistic MD.

Look for dysbiosis and low gastric acidity. It's helpful to know specifically what undesireable microflora has colonized the gut.

Menthol, thymol, eucalyptus, and methyl salicylate are all essential

oils extracted from herbs and are known for their germ killing

abilities. Menthol is common in mints, thymol from thyme, eucalyptus

is obvious, methyl salicylate is oil of wintergreen which also has

some pain killing and anti-inflammatory ability. I used to buy a

mouthwash in the health food store that cost over $5 a pint until I

realized upon reading the ingredients that it was basicly Listerine

and peroxide. I now make my own by mixing two parts peroxide and one

part Listerine.

Hi and Razor

I have read somewhere, i cant remember if it was in this group or

somewhere else, that Mahonia aquifolium/ M-folia or oregon grape is

excellent for psoriasis.

My husband also has psoriase and I did a search a while ago on M-folia

and remember that i found some shampoo's etc with M-folia in it. But i

never took it further.

Martie,

Good memory.

From http://www.ryandrum.com/Devilsclub.htm:

"THERAPEUTIC USES OF MAHONIAMost Mahonia medicine uses teas and extracts of stem and rhizome pieces both externally and internally. Some folk traditions do use Mahonia leaf teas, powders, and extracts (1), I do not, yet. One of the best summaries of the real therapeutic uses of Mahonia is in Dr. Christopher's book, The School of Natural Healing (2). Dried leaf has reportedly been used as an antimicrobial styptic for skin abrasions and to topically calm herpes and psoriasis skin lesions (?). I usually recommend strong Mahonia nervosa decocted tea for herpes and psoriasis patients; the functional dosage is roughly one to two 8-oz cups of a 2 to 12 hr-steeped decoction two to four times a week. This usually results in a noticeable lessening of symptom severity. Less-defined eczema and rashes often resolve with 2-10 weeks of M. nervosa tea usage: the action here may be due to a combination of improved liver and kidney excretory function, antifungal or antibacterial activity, and, possibly mild thyroid stimulation (6)."

I have had atopic dermatitis most of my life. It is not as bad as an adult. I find the best way to deal with it is to use an ointment type moistureizer (not lotion) like Palmer's cocoa butter in the tub and wear leggings to bed. It is hard to scratch through leggings.

Avoid anything with perfumes or dyes. My mom always used Tide to wash clothes....but it was always my fault for scratching.... C
