Guest guest
In the post about Yin Deficiency, the paragraph about the tongue color should read that like in all Heat disorders Kidney Yin Deficiency may manifest as a red tongue. I typed Yang instead of Yin. In Kidney Yang Deficiency - as in all Cold disorders - the tongue will be pale (or blue or bluish-purple when Qi Stagnation and/or Blood Stasis due to Cold also are present.) Red tongue, think Heat; pale tongue think Cold. The exceptions are that the tongue will be pale in Blood Deficiency disorders, but it also will be dry. In Cold disorders it is moist or even wet and pale. There is a relatively rare case of True Cold, False Heat where the tongue will be red because what little Yang there is has separated and floated upwards. In these cases of True Cold, False Heat, most of the other indicators will be for Cold, and the red tongue may be the only possible sign of Heat. In general, think red = Heat, pale = Cold (or Blood Deficiency if the tongue also is dry). Victoria --== Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ ==-- Share what you know. Learn what you don't.
