Remember how 6 of the meridians are classified as Yin and 6 are classified as

Yang? For example, the Liver is the Yin Wood meridian, and the Gallbladder is

the Yang Wood meridian. The Kidney is the Yin Water meridian, and the Bladder is

the Yang Water meridian.

The organs also are classified as Yin and Yang. The solid organs (Zang) like the

liver and kidneys are classified as Yin, and the hollow organs (Fu) like the

Gallbladder and Bladder are classified as Yang. Zang organs are Yin; Fu organs

are hollow.

The other 3 pairs are:

Zang heart and Fu small intestine. (Fire)

Zang spleen and Fu stomach (Earth)

Zang lung and Fu large intestine (Metal)

The Fu organs really are hollow when compared to the Zang organs.

Right now the terminology and concept of Zang (Yin) and Fu (Yang) organs aren't

going to mean a lot to you. But later on this will.

Note: All organs because they are Interior are considered Yin. But of these 12

organs, 6 are considered Yin and 6 Yang when compared among themselves. Just

like with the meridians. Meridians are considered Yang because they're closer to

the surface of the body than the organs are. But of the 12 meridians, 6 are Yin

and 6 are Yang when compared to each other. Everything is relative. At the

present time this won't make a lot of sense to you and seems like much to do

about nothing (who cares?). But later on, as you learn more, it will all start

to fit together.
