Guest guest
These are general remarks concerning Hot and Cold disorders. People who are too Hot dislike hot weather, are bothered by hot weather, and tend to feel too hot a lot. People who are too Cold dislike cold weather, are bothered by cold weather, and tend to feel too cold a lot. When I say " dislike " and " are bothered by " , I mean that the winter or the summer is the person's least favorite time of the year because of the cold or the heat. The individual tends to do better when it's not cold or not hot. People with Hot conditions tend to be thristy a lot and want cold drinks. People with Cold conditions rarely are thirsty, may even have an adversion to drinking, and when they do take liquids, prefer hot drinks or even soup. Urine output in people with Hot conditions will tend to be dark-colored and scanty. In many cases, the darker the urine, the more Heat is present. In contrast people who are too Cold tend to produce a lot of very light-colored, even clear, urine. The movements and speech of people who are too Hot tend to be rapid. Cold people tend to talk and move slowly. In general, Hot conditions are revealed by red tongue color. The tongue coating is yellow, and the pulse is rapid. Cold conditions usually result in pale tongue color, white tongue coating, and a slow pulse. There are exceptions. One of the exceptions for pulse is that atheletes, especially distance runners will tend to have lower than normal pulses. People who are overweight will tend to have more rapid pulses than they otherwise would have. If an application of warmth makes pain worse but application of cold makes the pain less, that's a Hot condition. If applying cold makes the pain worse but application of warmth eases it, that's a Cold condition. Hot needs and wants cooling; Cold needs and wants warmth. In Hot conditions the bowel movements tend to be hard and dry. People with Hot conditions tend to have constipation. In Cold conditions, the stools tend to be loose. People with Cold conditions tend to have diarrhea. I want you to note that constipation and diarrhea are two of the most general and least specific symptoms in judging Hot and Cold. There are cases of dysentary caused by Heat. Likewise, there are cases of constipation (or colonic inertia to be more exact) that are caused by Cold. More specific for Heat conditions than constipation is that the bowel movements and the urine may have an unusually strong odor.
