Guest guest
Hi everyone! My name is John Choong from Malaysia. I've been an alternative therapist in reflexology, Shiatsu, and Reiki healing for one year. I had learn reflexology under the Rwo Shur method. I'm currently doing a personal research comparing and questioning the different forms of traditional healing art. I would like hear the views under the Western and other oriental systems. I heard some people claimed that doing reflexology, the practitioner would absorbed the negative " chi " (sick energy) from the patient. This could be detrimental to the well being of the therapist. According to some Chinese schools of thought (especially Rwo Shur method), using the tip of the thumb is gravely avoided as this is the point that could easily absorb most energy. Prolong usage of the thumb's tip would result in eye problems, headaches and then other form of degenerative diseases. 1. Is it true that we can stand vulnerable to the patient's negative " chi " creeping into our body system? 2. If this true, is there any method of protection we should practice or abide before commencing the treatment? Hopefully, anyone of you out there would be generous enough to give your views.
