Guest guest
How is " propriety " (Li??) associated to the heart?? In my understanding, propriety seems similar to diplomatic social maneuvering, which usually seems done best with a " closed heart " , keeping one's personal intentions and feelings hidden. Is my understanding of li adequate?? Is the association because " propriety " stresses the heart, much in the way grief stresses the lungs?? Again, sorry for foolish questions based most likely on my own misunderstanding. Can anyone recommend any sources where I could learn further? Respect, as propriety and uprightness, correctness, are virtues of the heart, they are not pathological and do not(should not) lead to any disease. Propriety do not come from a closed heart, in the sense of dissimulation, but from respect, you should have control; correctness, but from the Confucian viewpoint, these are positive emotions. I guess if it streesed someones heart, he's not doing it properly!marcos _____________________ Busca O serviço de busca mais completo da Internet.
