This page suggests that you can use isopropyl alcohol instead of regular

alcohol (ethanol). This is the first time I have seen isopropyl alcohol

mentioned as an alternative. Does anyone have any opinions on this?

Isopropyl alcohol is a cheaper than even cheap rice wine (never mind vodka).

When making liniments, I cook raw herbs in a crock pot until its a

fairly strong decoction. When it has cooled, I add an equal part of

isopropyl and begin aging it for at least a few months---so its

extracted with both water and alcohol. I've used isopropyl for a

long time now. It works well and since it's for external use there

is no problem.
