Guest guest
A question came to mind regarding herbs like Ho Shou Wu (Polygonum Multiflorum) & Jiao Gu Lan (Gynostemma Pentafolia). These seem to be rather common tonic herbs, but are very rarely used in " medicinal " scenarios, unlike many other tonics (ginseng, rehmannia, etc). I guess I'm wondering why that is. I've heard of them referred to as " folk herbs " as opposed to medicinal herbs. Are ther technical reasons for their exclusion, or is does it have something to do with geography or history? --J
