Guest guest
Hi Roberta, Thank you for your interest in Watsu. Here are three things regarding your question that you may already know...:One that you can't do anything about is your size : Having long arms is a great advantage you probably noticed by working on small children. Second is learning different grips not just the first position where you can only do some lateral stretches and waves , which is already very great. Third are floatation devices, so that your patient can float easily. Watsu uses Velcro devices that you tie on the legs. Jahara technique (using a noodle) is probably the best technique for learning various positions and grips where you can actually DO Shiatsu in the water. The rest, Watsu, Healing dance, Water-dance is merely stretching the meridians and using the water as the mother hand . Again this seems little but what a incredible experience!. I will offer some classes in the Alps next year for beginners and i would gladly give you a private lesson if you come through Switzerland. Presence, practice & ingeniousity are the key, let the Mother do what you could not . Lots of love Where and with whom did you learn Watsu?
