Guest guest
When I first took a class in Tui Na it was told to us, this is how the diagnostic works(went over taste, season, smell, etc, etc.) Then it was explained to us if you have pain along these areas (teacher showing us the meridians) then it has to do with.... these organs. The teacher went on to say if the channel was healthy you would be less vulnerable to injury, like if you fell out of a plane and didn't break any bones. Whenever I found an injury that was " off the beaten path " from one of the primary meridians I would first use those meridians and then, I would clear the ones that followed them... Mind you, the points I was given for Tui na don't seem to match up with some of what I am being shown (or aren't for the same organ) now in other texts, but this hasn't been a problem. So, say I had a problem in the arm... The girl had what the doctor had called Saturday Night Palsy.... Which was their title for, girl slept on arm funny. Went to sleep and never woke back up. So, I tried first clearing the heart channel which according to my teacher went from the web of the thumb where according to other(ie Web has no Weaver, Acuxo on-line reference for accupunture) texts is: LI4 Hegu is ending in the cheek aproximately where ST3 Juliao. This had positive effect and restore some motion, but it wasn't the total cure. So, while my teacher didn't show us there was a channel going down the back of the arm, but I knew a point beneath the scapula caused belching and by having her move the limb as best she could... looking for where pain referred, etc we were able to restore a good portion of the motion to the arm.... In one treatment.... um... there is a point to this, I'm just slow. I apologize for consuming so much time. Another client I had had torn ligaments in her ankle was using crutches, couldn't walk without them... Did what I was told was kidneys, which I was told ran from 3rd eye down the skull to split in two points at the occipital ridge and continueing as two points until it split off seeming to follow the sciatic and then middle of the calf, bottom right corner of ankle and center of the foot. She left without needing the crutches. The idea as it was explained to me is that we are beings of infinite energy and if we can tap this no injury is withstanding. Kinda hippie, and metaphysical for a guy who doesn't believe in energy work, but I got results with which I could not argue. (which got me thinking about the amount of energy store in an atom, not to mention concepts of laying on hands, etc, etc).... The thing is: If you believe that there isn't a body of knowledge dealing with a condition you have encounter then your own choice is to experiment yourself with finding where pressure from that area refers. That is what doctors did for thousands of years, and even today (It ain't called the medical practise for nothing). I don't know if you'll remember a kind of crazy psychotherapist named Wilheim Reich, who proposed that Cancer (this is simplified, but...) was a kind of stagnation of internalized guilt, and heart conditions were externalizing it. This has been reinforced by all those studies about type a personality gets this or that, but... What I am getting at is... And please understand, I am sure there are many who are far more knowledgeable than I am, but looking at what accupunture diagrams this is an area of possible congestion for 4 channels. CV1 Huiyin, GV1 Chaingqaing, GB 28 Weidao, and KI 11 Henggu. It would seem at the very least if you could clear the stagnation from these points the body might well be able to heal itself. I have also heard about teas you can ingest, Sharks Cartiledge, but most import is a change of the Spirit(that's Shen, right?). A positive aditude, a belief that one can be restored, and that one is loved... If I am honest I just lost my father to cancer. He was sure that nothing could save him and so... it couldn't. I appreciate your time. Truly, M C Markman (Eric Morlin is a pen name for the name is use to write angry poetry under. heh.)
