I've been evangelizing for at least twenty years with patients, family,

students and anyone else to avoid antibiotic treatment except when

absolutely necessary, and foods that may contain antibiotics, such as

non-organic animal products.

I think this crisis is one of the places where Chinese medicine has to

step up to the plate. We need to stop being so apologetic and

complacent, and start telling people how effective Chinese medicine can

be for infectious diseases. We also need to start training more

students in the theory and prescriptions of Wen Bing/Warm Disease.

Just the knee-jerk reaction of modern medicine treating viral

infections with antibiotics, and the use of 'prophylactic' antibiotics

has damaged the immunity of millions of people in America alone.

One way to avoid the crisis of which you speak, Attilio, is herbal

medicine, homeopathy and acupuncture.

So the crises is a truly possible opportunity for herbal

medicine, homeopathy and acupuncture to step forward?

Then that is a possible light future in the probable dark future

Let's invest our energy into the light one.

>>>>While i totally agree with the dangers of this over use of antibiotics and

especially their use in food. The evidence of CM capability of controlling real

infectious disease is very skimp. CM can often work simple URI and it should be

used. It works for simple bladder infections ect. But serous infectious disease

for the most part require modern or combined treatment. When i was in china most

of my time was spent in the surgical department, and in our hospital that is

were serous infectious diseases were treated. I have seen patients come close to

death because some senior CM dr does not like modern meds, more than ones. When

talking about infecous diseases we need to stay in reality they can kill very

quickly
