From my class notes:

Inner - Neiting court yard = St 44 it is an empirical point to treat retention of food.

Proximal to the web margin the second and third toes in the depression distal and lateral to the second metatarsal point. Ying Spring Pt.

Unblock and direct rebellious St Qi. Harmonize intestines and transform stagnation.

Used in febrile Ds, toothache, pain in face, deviation of mouth, sore throat, epistaxis, gastric pain, acid regurgitation, and distention, diarrhea, dysentery, constipation, swelling and pain of the dorsum of the foot.

Needle perpendicular 0.3 - 0.5 puncture towards the head and moxa is OK.

Only goes to show that my memory is "low":-)

You are right the point I am speaking of is probably shenting "spirit courtyard" less my memory again is running wild...

Thanks for bring this to the list...

St 44 is also a water point on a earth channel and foot yangming (greater conduct circulation tract pathway...)

Less my memory...

As we are talking about this Robert Heydan any interesting experience you would not mind relaying with this loci in terms of a Japanese channel acumoxa?

or anyone else any interesting (i.e. useful in one way or other...) experience with this foot greater yang loci from what ever epistemological view point...East West etc. etc...?

It is also one of the Ma Yang Tan twelve stars, treating ailments of the face when used in combination with Colon 4

It is often used with St36 for regulating the digestive track

St 36 and 44 are an excellent combination for eating spoiled food or

food poisoning. They should feel relief while still on the table

very quickly.

I've also used it for instant relief for locked jaws, probably originating in

liver qi

stagnation. Remember there are two branches going between the second and third

and third and fourth toes. Both seem equally strong in my experience.

robert:

You're right. I read thorough the posting too quickly. The Koreans

show the same functions and indications for it.
