Guest guest
Thanks Pj and Alwin. I did find the link, but it doesn't offer much. Also some UK associations like the BAC and RCHM are not members, which confuses me alittle. I see that its a sub group of the WFCMS. Perhaps Dave Malony can shead some light on this new group. Guest guest
Hi Attilio What kind of information are you looking for? The mission statements of both organisations are quite clear about what these organisations are about: PEFOTS: (a) to promote Traditional in all its aspects and to unite Traditional experts and societies in Europe; (b) to strive for the right of all Europeans to a health care system that shall accommodate Western and Eastern medicines; © to establish relations with the European Union and international organisations (d) to assist legislative and regulatory work by the European Union (e) to promote exchange of scientific research and to work for recognition of Traditional at the European level; (f) to act as an educational vehicle for the public; (g) to set standards for Traditional practitioners at a European level; (h) to promote publications in the field of Traditional Chinese Medicine; (i) to establish teaching material and provide training. EUROTCM The mission of EUROTCM is the pursuit, preservation and dissemination of knowledge and professionalism in Traditional . I noticed that someone from Middlesex University is member of the PEFOTS (Wu, Jidong (uk)* - Middlesex University, U.K). Maybe you can contact his person to find out more about these kind of organisations. The absence of the UK professional organisations on a European level may be worrying sign. Wouldn't you think so? Do you know how the UK- TCM is being represented on a European (politcal) level? Alwin --- " " wrote: > Thanks Pj and Alwin. Guest guest
Hi Alwin. Mission statements don't give much away. I was hoping someone might have a more insider view as to what the EuroTCM group is. I've Cc Jidong, my lecturer, into this message to see what he has to say about the EuroTCM group. Why the BAC and RCHM are not members may be a sign of political moves i cannot quite understand.Alwin van Egmond < wrote: EUROTCMThe mission of EUROTCM is the pursuit, preservation and dissemination of knowledge and professionalism in Traditional .I noticed that someone from Middlesex University is member of the PEFOTS (Wu, Jidong (uk)* - Middlesex University, U.K). Guest guest
I can't say why the BAcC and RCHM haven't joined but I do wonder what benefit there is for members, or the public, to have another layer of bureaucracy creating new hoops for us to jump through. I see the BAcC appears to be affiliated to another Europeann umbrella organisation the European Association of TCM (EATCM). This appears similar in aims but with less ties to mainland Chinese institutions. Godfrey. Chinese Medicine , " Attilio DAlberto " <attiliodalberto> wrote: > Thanks Pj and Alwin.
