Guest guest
Hi. Thanks for all the feedback. I have dug up an old file as an example. The date of birth is 24.7.54. She has swelling of the ankles that is worse in hot weather, and feels painful. Her knees and abdomen are also effected. It started 5 years ago after a hysterectomy. She likes hot weather, but doesn't feel the cold easily. She is hot and restless at night since the hysterectomy, but no nightsweats. Nocturia x2. Urination is frequent, scanty and urgent. Some lower back ache. Periods used to be quite painful, but better with warmth. Sleep is poor. Urgent bowel movements about 7am. Tongue is swollen, flaccid and slightly pale. Proximal position of left pulse is wiry, proximal position of right pulse is weak and deep. Spleen pulse was Full, sometimes Wiry, sometimes Slippery; Liver pulse usually slippery, and weak on a deep level; Heart pulse often Floating Empty. I think from the symptoms we could surmise a couple of scenarios: 1) could be a weak LIV meridian / organ system.if this were so I would expect more symptoms to reflect this like britle nails, floaters, light headadness, anxiety etc. Since you don't mention any of this it is problably unlikely. But I will enumerate the possible scenarios never the less. This would be a double wammy because on the 5 Element generating cycle the weak child makes more demands on the mother ie. KID also the Heart as the Child of the LIV. This pattern could be responsible for heart = sleep disturbance, Heart pulse often Floating Empty. She likes hot weather KID = She is hot and restless at night since the hysterectomy,She has swelling of the ankles that is worse in hot weather 2) I favour the Stagnant LIV scenario as more probable. The excess LIV in the control cicle will affect the SP.The other part of the patient's Root problem will be an inherent Deficient BL /KID. This will have an effect in the generating cycle. In the GB /LIV as the child of BL /KID.We will also expect symptoms in the LU /LI as the Mother trying to feed the BL/KID Child. Stagant/ Excess LIV = tension leading up to hysterectomy? painful periods? She is hot and restless at night) since the hysterectomy, but no nightsweats, but doesn't feel the cold easily, LIV controlling SP = Oedema in legs from SP disturbance in the Lymphatic system, Tongue is swollen, Spleen pulse was Full, sometimes Wiry, sometimes Slippery Def BL /KID = KID Yang def = She has swelling of the ankles that is worse in hot weather(worse in hot weather due to LIV Stag.?)Some lower back ache,Nocturia x2. Urination is frequent,She likes hot weather, flaccid and slightly pale tongue The lack of control by KID on HE=Sleep is poor,Heart pulse often Floating Empty. Def BL disturbing mother LI= Urgent bowel movements about 7am.?right pulse is weak and deep. If this were my patient on the info provided. my focus would be to treat exclusively on Sedating LIV points from a selection like LIV-1, 2, 5, 7,12,13 and Ton. BL Meridian with selection from BL 1,7,8, 10,28,30,32,34,40,58, 53,5461,62,63,64,66 With perhaps a few points on KID like KID-7,3 also Ren-4. I would not touch the SP meridian. I don't mean to sound arrogant, sorry if I come across forcefully Salvador _______________ Express yourself with cool emoticons - download MSN Messenger today! http://www.msn.co.uk/messenger
