Guest guest
As you probably have heard, the FDA has proposed a ban of ephedra (Ma Huang) and several other herbs containing trace amounts of ephedrine alkaloids including, but not limited to, pinellia (Ban Xia) and sida cordifolia (an Ayurvedic herb). The FDA says it will exempt Chinese medicinals from this ban, however, the actual text of the resolutions banning ephedra and other ephedrine alkaloid containing herbs currently before the house and senate do _not_ address nor include any sort exemption for Chinese medicinal herbs. I urge you to contact your legislators regarding H.Res.435 (house) and S.Res.260 (senate) as soon as possible. Email is good, hardcopy letters and/or phone calls are better. The more people that speak out out, the more impact we can have. Nothing will change unless we as individuals pick up the phone and/or pick up a pen and use a stamp. Do it now!
