Guest guest
Could anyone please help me with this patient. She is 7 years old and has a history of severe tonsillitis which have now been removed. She continues to have sore throats and severe itchy skin on her thighs and lower legs, also on her lower back. At night they become so itchy that they bleed. She wakes frequently during the night and eventually gets into bed with her parents. She looks very very pale with dark circles under her eyes. She does not have any respiratory problems. Her pulse is rapid and wiry and her tongue is red with no coating. Her diet is good and she is a vegetarian. Her mother does not allow her any snacks, crisps etc. She has a weak stomach. My diagnosis is wind heat toxin. Any suggestions on how to treat this patient keeping in mind her age? pdalberto _______________ Express yourself with cool new emoticons http://www.msn.co.uk/specials/myemo
Guest guest
Hi Pam, The wiry pulse with itchy skin and a sore throat looks like Liver Yang rising creating Wind. The fact that she had her tonsils removed points towards a protracted case. Also, the itching at night shows a Yin aspect, which could be caused by the Liver Yang burning the Yin but also the dark patches under her eyes, shows a kidney deficiency. The branch would be the Liver Yang rising with the root being a deficiency of the kidney. The weak stomach may point to the Liver attacking the Spleen and Stomach. Does she have loose stools? How were her emotions? I would subdue her Liver Yang with minerals such as Sheng Mu Li and Dai Zhe Shi, release the Wind with herbs such as Niu Bang Zi, Bo He, Ju Hua, etc and tonify Yin, Mai Meng Dong, etc. I'm not sure as to whether minerals would be ok for a girl of 7, or the dosage. Have others had any experience with this? Attilio " Pam D'Alberto " <pdalberto@h...> wrote: > > Could anyone please help me with this patient. Guest guest
Hi Pam D'Alberto, U can use this combination Lung 7 on right side, Kiney 6 on left. Then Spleen 4 on right & Pericardium 6 on left in the same order as I've written and take needles out in reverse manner. This combination will tonify earth and metal with kidney.Give not more than 2 treatments a week initially then once a week when she improves.U can also advice her to to Vitamin C and B complex as she is a vegetarian. If U can't needle her use soft leser on the same points and same order. Hope this helps. Best regards, Dr Shahzad. ===== Dr Shahzad Anwar M.B.B.S(Pak.), DipA/C(Pak.) Guest guest
Hi, Pam , Attilio, Red tongue , no coating, wind s/s, vegeterian diet(for 7 y.o.!) Maybe Yin and Blood Def plus Stagnated Heat in the blood level from previous frequent exterior W-Heats. Then: di gu pi, sang bai pi, lian qiao, sheg di, Niu Xi(to direct down), shu di + others for Blood Def Wind with heat aspects. Everthing in addition to what Attilio said. --- <attiliodalberto wrote: Hi Pam, The wiry pulse with itchy skin and a sore throat looks like Liver Yang rising creating Wind.
